From the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he believes petition circulators have enough valid signatures to force a recall election against him, and he wants it to happen sooner rather than later.
Walker told The Associated Press in an interview today that he has always assumed they would get the 540,000 signatures they need. Circulators turned in about 1 million signatures Tuesday, and Walker says he does not think enough will be invalidated to stop the election.
Democrats say Walker is trying to delay any possible election for as long as possible.
But Walker said Wednesday the sooner the election is over the better it is for the people of Wisconsin.
Walker says he believes he will prevail in any election, no matter his Democratic opponent. http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/article/20120118/WDH0101/120118090/Walker-wants-recall-election-soon-expects-prevail?odyssey=mod|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
It would be to Walker's advantage to hold the election as soon as possible. It would limit the Democrats from raising more money and limit the advertising, especially if Walker buys up all the advertising spots.
In reality, the Democrats are going to try and delay the recall election as long as possible. Hell, they may even challenge some signatures they have collected just to slow down the process.
The GOP are bad campaigners, they are wimps compared to the Democrats but they know how to win elections and they will outsmart the Democrats in this recall election, especially if his opponent is Kathy Falk of Madison.
