Another Sign Obama Is Going To Lose

In the teacher's parking lot at the school I teach at in Las Vegas, there are more pro Mitt Romney, anti Obama bumper stickers than pro Obama bumper stickers.
Imagine that, at our school, there are more teachers, and teachers are known for their liberalism, are showing their outward support for Romney than Obama.
Of course the tally is 3-1, but still....
But I have also noticed, driving down the Valley's freeways and streets, I hardly see any Obama bumper stickers on the cars out there, especially compared to 2008, where you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a car that had an Obama bumper sticker on it, in 2008.
I have also seen several Mitt Romney lawn signs out there and none for Obama.
What that tells me is there is a lack of enthusiasm for Obama this time around and that cannot be good.
Obama, on a warm Sunday afternoon, only draws about 6,000 people a few weeks ago at a rally just before the first debate and Joe Biden, yesterday, only draws a couple of hundred people here in Las Vegas at a rally and most of them were culinary workers.
This cannot be good for the Obama campaign.

  1. I can tell you this: In 2008, I got pulled over by a cop on Christmas Eve. I WAS speeding, but in an area where literally everyone speeds, every day. It's that curvy part of Dean Martin Drive by the Silverton, where the speed goes from 45 to 35 to 45. I was in the 35 part, and doing 46. So, I was in the wrong, but still surprised to be pulled over.

The cop seemed openly hostile to me, and I was unsure of why. I'm an unassuming gent, driving a Jeep Wrangler at the time, no big whoop. He didn't just give me a ticket for speeding, he also nicked me for having no (current) proof of insurance (I had the expired one, but WAS current), and also nicked my other half, because the registration showed his name only. This was a DMV issue, neither of our fault.

The tab came to $1600. For going 46 in a 35 in front of a casino. Fortunately, I have a good friend who is a lawyer who got it tamped WAY down. But the only thing I could think of to inspire such rough treatment? My Obama '08 sticker was still on my bumper.

So, I don't have one this time!

  2. You know how Metro is- write tickets, and shoot first and then ask questions.
Maybe he was getting flack for not writing enough tickets.
I got the same ticket a few years ago, regarding the insurance. I had the card in the car but I showed him my AAA card instead (I have AAA insurance)
I don't understand the registration part, though.
I guess there is another possibility is that if you have a political bumper sticker on your car, you maybe be subject to harassment from other drivers from the other side of the aisle.
