From the Chicago Tribune: At least eight people were shot, three fatally in several South and West Side shootings this afternoon, police said.
The most serious shooting occurred at 5:30 p.m. on the 9400 block of South Rhodes Avenue, police said.
A
28-year-man and a 30-year-old man were both shot in the head and
pronounced dead at the scene, said Chicago Police Department News
Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss.
In addition, a 23-year-old woman was shot and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
Police said a gunman emerged from a gangway and shot the three victims before fleeing in a dark-colored van.
At about the same time, a 25-year-old man was shot on the 8600 block of South Kingston Avenue, police said.
The
man sustained a gunshot wound to his head and was taken in critical
condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he later died,
according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.
Two
people were also injured in a shooting at about 9:20 p.m. on the 1500
