Brookfield is a large suburb just west of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County.
Just a few months ago, several people were killed in another Milwaukee suburb, when a man wearing fatigues shot up a Sikh Temple.
I will up date as I am able.
Brookfield Mall is a large mall off of I-94 and listening to scanner track, the scene is still very active and they have a SWAT team setting up by a store named Stir Crazy.
They also have a command post by the stand alone McDonalds int he area.
They still have many police officer responding to the scene.
Scanner traffic says that family members of shooting victims are on the scene.
Updates from jsonline:
A bystander standing in the east parking lot of Brookfield Square, identified as Christopher Pfeiffer, 47, of Brookfield, said he was coming from church at Spring Creek church in Pewaukee when he pulled into the Barnes and Noble bookstore and saw a young girl running in the aisles of the parking lot.
"She was screaming, yelling, crying hysterical. She was pleading for help," said Pfeiffer said. "She kept saying, 'My mother was shot.' And she mentioned that there was a gunman. She ran into the bookstore and I followed her. But I watched her from afar."
Then he said law enforcement descended on the Azana Spa just east of Brookfield Square, where the shooting apparently occurred. The man said the young woman was barefoot and assumed she was a patron at the spa.
Another man, Paul Moll, 64, of Milwaukee, was having lunch at the Red Robin Restaurant and said he just saw police car descend on the scene. He said he noticed someone was wheeled out of the spa building in a chair. He said he heard there was an active shooter inside.
Brookfield Square has been placed on lockdown.
Just after noon, a Flight for Life helicopter could be seen at Brookfield Square. Police and fire units from New Berlin, Waukesha, Town of Lisbon and others were on the scene.  http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/multiple-victims-shot-near-brookfield-square-le7a3b4-175147441.html
The Waukesha County fire is quiet for right now.
Cops are still looking for the Mazda with a Wisconsin license plate.  They have the plate number, so they probably already staking out the person's home..
Family members of people inside the mall are meeting by Bank Mutual to reunite.
Cops are talking to a friend of the suspect.
The suspect could be a heavy set black male according to scanner traffic as they are checking out a heavy set black male near Calhoun Rd.
More from jsonline:
A short time later, Gosh said, a large black man with a handgun ran out and appeared to be chasing the girl. However, at that moment, police started showing up and when the gunman saw them, he ran back into the building - or perhaps into the woods behind the building, where Westmoor Country Club is located.
"He was the shooter," Gosh said. "He was looking for an escape route."
Gosh and his father were fairly certain he returned to the building because they thought they saw him appear at an upstairs window and pull a shade down. However, scanner traffic indicated he may have left in a black Mazda. He reportedly was dressed in military fatigues.
Gosh's father, John, saw two women come out of the building who had been shot. They were bloody, he said; one appeared to be shot in the leg and the other appeared to have been shot in the back.
Police officers told Gosh that at least eight people had been shot. They were looking for a black male, 6 feet 1 inch and about 270 pounds. As of 12:30 p.m., at least 16 emergency vehicles were staged in the mall parking lot near the Boston Store department store, at the corner of Moorland and Blue Mound Road. Tactical officers are swarming the area.
Cops still looking for suspect  at 1:30 local time.  They have SWAT teams from different locations still arriving on scene, including West Allis.

Three more victims are expected to be transported from the scene, Froedtert spokeswoman Carolyn Bellin said. Numerous sheriffs department and security vehicles are actively patrolling the Milwaukee County Medical Center Complex and grounds near Froedtert. Officers are stationed at all main entrances to the facility.
Glad to see no one was killed.
I grew up in the area and have been to Brookfield Square many, many times.  It's a nice suburban mall with few problems.  It's in an area where there is a huge shopping district, up and down Bluemond Rd.
Here is the information about the mall: http://www.shopbrookfieldsquaremall.com/shop/brookfield.nsf/index
Ooops, the car being sought by the cops is no longer being sought and no longer thought to be part of the shooting according to the cops.
So, now, the guy can be anywhere in the area or took another car.
The cops know who the shooter is as the cops are with the suspects daughter.
The cops have a house surrounded either in Brown Deer or on Brown Deer Rd., both in Milwaukee County and they are looking for the suspect inside the house.
More info on the suspect:  Police identified the man as Radcliffe F. Haughton, 45, of Brown Deer. Police said he is 6 feet 2 inches tall and 210 pounds, wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans and carrying a white and black backpack. He was seen driving a 2003 Mazda Protégé with license number
