Clinton Judge Says Michigan Cannot Ask About Citizenship

This election is going to hell.
From the Detroit Free Press: A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction that prevents Secretary of State Ruth Johnson’s office from requiring citizenship checkboxes on voter ballot applications for the November presidential election.
“It is really a burden on the right to vote in terms of slowing things down, in terms of confusion,” U.S. District Court Judge Paul D. Borman said Friday in a preliminary ruling from the bench. Borman is expected to issue a written opinion by the end of Tuesday.
A voting rights coalition that filed a lawsuit against Johnson challenging the use of the checkboxes asked for the injunction.
Johnson’s office has said the state’s voter rolls have as many as 4,000 registered voters who are not U.S. citizens and that she wants to ensure non-citizens get one last chance to not vote, pointing out that they could be committing a felony, face large legal fees, be deported or have problems pursuing U.S. citizenship. http://www.freep.com/article/20121005/NEWS06/121005078/Federal-judge-grants-injunction-preventing-Secretary-of-State-from-requiring-citizenship-checkboxes-on-ballots?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
So, please tell me what is wrong with asking a voter if they are a citizen of the United States?  Nothing, unless you are a Democrat.
And the judge in this case was appointed by Bill Clinton.
