There Are Still Good People Around

Good Sam logo
2 quick stories of good people who still inhabit the Earth.  Both occurred on Wednesday at the wal-Mart I work at.
The first case was when a customer left $80 at the self-checkout.  The cashier operating the area found the money and promptly turned the money over to the supervisor.  The customer came back an hour later and the money was returned.  The customer tried to tip the cashier and the cashier refused, so she ended up with a big hug.
The second incident occurred when an older, elderly woman- maybe in her 80's tried to check out.  She allowed her debit card  to be used by almost total strangers at the Home Depot to buy some things that were needed to help them set up an apartment.  Well, besides buying the material, they tried to take out cash.  They were successful in getting $400 but the bank froze the debit card when these thugs tried to take out $1700.
So, the old lady tried to buy $175 worth of groceries but the debit card was declined because of the attempted fraud.
So, the Old Lady was not happy and so the next person in line paid for the Old Lay's groceries, all $175.
The lady wanted to remain anonymous and refused to give anyone her name or phone number.  She paid both bills and went on her merry way.
So, kudos to the cashier and the unknown customer who showed us that there are still good people in the world and Las Vegas.
