Of Course They Wouldn't

Why I am not surprised?
A deeply divided San Diego County Democratic Party Thursday night decided not to join the mounting calls for Mayor Bob Filner’s resignation over sexual harassment accusations as his supporters began gearing up a campaign to keep him in office.
The party’s central committee met for nearly three hours behind the closed doors of a Kearny Mesa union hall to discuss what position it should take on the embattled mayor.
But the committee was deadlocked, voting 24-24.
“We feel somewhat betrayed that we have to deal with these allegations,” party Chair Francine Busby told reporters afterward. “We all condemn it. It’s abhorrent and we stand with these women. If the mayor has done this and it is proven to be true, we will ask for his immediate resignation.”
Busby said it was "a very, very emotional meeting" and that beyond the accusations and the resignation question, committee members were questioning how Filner "is going to ride this out."
She said there were two distinct camps.
One, she said, felt that the party “cannot take allegations without any people (coming forward), without any proof and without any process" and demand the resignation of a mayor elected by the people.
The other camp “felt strongly we should ask the mayor to resign because of a betrayal of trust,” Busby said.
Filner was invited to attend meeting but did not show up.
The San Diego Republican Party quickly issued a statement criticizing Democratic leaders.
"By failing to act, Democrats have shown that they care more about preserving political power than standing up for women who have been victimized. San Diego deserves better," Executive Director Francis Barraza said. "As a woman, I am horrified not only at the tales coming out of the Mayor's Office, but the admissions of leaders in the Democratic Party that they knew about Bob Filner's behavior all along."  http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/jul/18/filner-resignation-sexual-harassment/
Hell, just in NYC, they got 2 perverts running for office-Weiner and Spitzer. It's almost like you have to be a pervert, a dumbass, senile or incompetent to run for or be in office to be a Democrat.
