Why would a sitting judge in a famous case decide to sit down for an interview just before she releases her verdict?
For fame, of course.
From Channel 3, Las Vegas:
It will be up to Judge Linda Bell to decide whether O.J. Simpson gets a new trial for his involvement in the 2007 armed robbery heist at the Palace Station Hotel.
The appeal comes down to the question of fairness: Was Simpson poorly represented by his attorney in the case, given such bad advice that it caused his conviction?
The state says no, but Simpson’s present attorney insists yes. A plight so ironic for a man once famously represented by a team of powerhouse lawyers dubbed “The Dream Team.”
News 3’s Jessica Moore talks with Bell about the experience. http://www.mynews3.com/content/news/story/Judge-in-Simpsons-appeal-talks-with-News-3-s/Hdca2tsI0U2o3DrYZW9jSg.cspxIn the interview, she brags about her experience and that is why she thinks she got the case. Her dad was a famous lawyer in Las Vegas and that helped her with her vast experience- in the reporter's words.
She laughs about the case and being assigned the case. To me, she is taking the case not very seriously and that she is enjoying the lime light.
It also was a very weak interview, with the reporter throwing softball questions to the judge.
In the end, the only thing that apparently that came out of the interview was that appeal ruling will be given within the next 3 weeks.
Just another Las Vegas judge seeking the limelight and fame through O.J. Simpson. The other judge was Jackie Glass who got a short lived TV show after her handling of the Simpson trial.
