Worst Job In Las Vegas: Sign Spinner

If you live or visit Las Vegas, you have seen them: sign spinners. They are people who stand on the corners of busy streets spinning advertising signs. Most of signs are for apartment buildings and pizza joints. However, during tax season, we have people dressed as the Statue of Liberty and Uncle Sam spinning the signs.

These guys and girls, but mostly guys, don't make a lot of money. The more talented you are in spinning signs, the more money you can make. But you are going to get catcalls and the weather, especially lately, sucks. You have to be out there spinning signs when it is raining or in 110 degrees.

But. It is a job and you get paid, so I do have a lot respect for them.

  1. Sign spinning is a controversial form of outdoor advertising in which trained employees stand on public street corners and display surfboard-sized cardboard signs.
