Some Las Vegas Cabbies On Strike

From the LVRJ: Charles Young said he was fighting for a "livable wage" late Sunday afternoon as he and about 250 drivers participated in the first cabby strike in the Las Vegas Valley in nearly two decades, promising they wouldn't cross the picket line unless certain demands were met.
Young, 54, who has more than two years experience with Yellow Checker Star Transportation, the second-largest cab company in Las Vegas, said he works 12-hour shifts and 60 hours per week. He said he's lucky on the days his two-week paycheck reads $600.
"It's brutal," Young said across the street from his company, 5225 W. Post Road in the southwest valley. "They are robbing us blind."
Most of the company's drivers went on strike starting at 12:01 a.m. Sunday. But the first day's impact to the state's tourism industry had been minimum, as some resorts on the Strip and McCarran International Airport reported business as usual, despite fewer cabbies shuttling people around.

To Mr. Young what you forget is that you get tips and your tips probably are than your salary.  How about, this, Mr. Young, why don't you give up your tips and then demand a higher wage.
And only 250 cabbies went on strike.  They won't be missed.  Since they won't make any money when they are on strike, that only means the other cabbies from the different and those not on strike are making the striker's money.
Sucks to belong to a union that has no relevance.
