Why Aren't Flags At Half Staffed In Nevada?

A flag is at half-staff outside the Sandy Hook fire department. (Hartford Courant, Anthony DiLorenzo / December 14, 2012 )
Fire stations across the country are flying their flags at half staff in honor of the 19 firefighters who died in Arizona.
In New Mexico, the governor ordered flags to be lowered to honor 19 heroes.
In Nevada nothing.
In Henderson, where I live, the flags are flying high on their poles.
You would think because of Nevada's close proximity of Arizona- Nevada meets Arizona at the Hoover Dam, that we in Nevada and especially Southern Nevada would honor those who died.
But then you would think wrong.
What a shame.
