Update: Military Invents New Word For Crash

From the Las Vegas Sun: Federal officials are working to secure the site where a U.S. Marine Corps aircraft crashed during a hard landing near Creech Air Force Base this afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. during a routine training mission, according to a statement from the 432nd Wing stationed at Creech Air Force Base.
The plane “experienced a hard landing” on federal land near Indian Springs during the mission, but no one was injured, the statement said.
As of 6:30 p.m., first responders and federal officials were still working to secure the scene.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2013/aug/26/plane-suffers-hard-landing-near-creech-afb-no-one-/
So, if land in the desert or elsewhere, away from the air strip, and it destroys most of the plane, it is now called a hard landing.
