From the LVRJ: Air Force emergency crews are responding to the site of an aircraft crash north of Creech Air Force Base near Indian Springs, a Creech spokesman said Monday. Tech. Sgt. Shad Eidson said Air Force personnel are trying to confirm the type of aircraft involved in the crash reported at about 3:40 p.m.
The base, 45 miles northwest of Las Vegas, is a hub for remotely piloted aircraft operations typically involving drones such as the MQ-1 and RQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper, which are controlled via satellite link by pilots and sensor operators sitting at computer consoles in ground stations at the base.
However, Eidson said, “We don’t believe right now” that the plane involved in Monday’s crash was a remotely piloted aircraft.
“We are confirming the type of aircraft right now,” he said at 5 p.m. “Our emergency responders did go out.” http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/military/plane-crash-reported-near-creech-air-force-base
There are a lot of possibilities of the type of plane that went down. However, don't think for a second that the Air Force will release much information in the coming hours or even days.
