Pawn Stars Review: August 8, 2013

Obviously, I didn't win the lottery last night because I am still here, so, here goes for this week of Pawn Star reviews.
I found this on the web this week and of course, Internet stories never lie, right?

Because Chumlee lost so much weight, they didn't want to call him "Chumlee", so they they would call him "Tater Tot".

The gun also had a knife attached to the gun and the brass knuckles were able to move up and down. 
The guy wanted $7000 and Rick offered $2000.  The guy came down to $4000 and there was no deal. 
Corey says the number of visitors to the shop is declining but I talked to an employee at the shop 3 weeks ago and he said they were as busy as ever, with long waiting times for tourists to get into the shop.  (Of course, locals can walk right in)  They talked about having Chumlee walk up and down the street with a sandwich board, advertising the shop.

The seller thought they were about 500 years old and one was Austrian and the other Italian.  The guy wanted $7500 each or a total of $15,000.  Time for an expert, Craig.  Craig said the wood- the pole- were not original.  One of the pieces, Craig, thought was a decorator piece.  The other piece was real.  The decorator piece was worth about $600 and the real piece was worth about $1500 and the seller was quite pissed.  Corey offered a total of $1500 and there was no sale.

She said the Giori money came from the 1970's. She said the Giori in the sheet form was rare, in good shape and was worth about $3000-3500.  Rick offered $3000 ad then $3200 and finally $3300 and that was selling price.


In the 2nd episode, the first guy brought in a Ghostbuster Proton pack.  http://www.ghostbusters.com/
The seller made the proton pack and was not in the movie.  The guy wanted $2000 and the Old Man said no right away.  Corey offered $800 and the Old Man offered $1000 and the selling price $1050.

They decided that Corey and Rick would go down to Florida for the auction.  They went down there and looked at different cars and Corey really liked a Plymouth Roadrunner, which he wanted to buy.  It looked like there were a couple hundred cars.
Corey bid on the Road Runner and he won the Road Runner for $48,000 and with the fees, $53,000.
As far as the Steve McQueen car, it sold for $80,000. 
Corey said they used the Store's money to buy the Road Runner but he was going to buy the car through payments... with a net worth of $1,200,000?
The Old Man tried to take the car home and put it up for sale- but the car didn't start after it was driven to the shop by Corey and Rick.

It's a real 10 pound note with the artist painting a picture on it.  The Old Man did not like the bank not and said it was counterfeit.  The guy wanted $1000.  Chumlee defended the bill and they called for an expert, Brett Maly from Art Encounter.  Brett said the bill was becoming fine art.  Brett said the bill was real and it was worth around $300-500 because the bills were not that rare.  The guy came down to $500 and the Chumlee offered $300 and went to $400 and that was the selling price.
