NASCAR Is Rigged
There were some days a few years when I thought NASCAR was rigged in favor of the popular drivers. But I thought they started to make things fair a few years ago, but today's race in Las Vegas shows me that once again, NASCAR is rigged in favor of the popular drivers and the rest of the least popular drivers, NASCAR wants them to stay in their place... behind the popular drivers.
In today's race, Paul Menard, #27, was class the field. He passed everyone at least once and most of the time, 2 or 3 times or more. He was faster than any other driver.
With about 45 laps to go, he was in 2nd place, with only Brad Keselowski ahead, and Keselowski still had one more pit stop to make. Menard was over taking him and was going to pass him when Keselowski went to the pits.
But then the yellow flag came out for a phantom yellow flag for debris. When I watched the safety trucks, I didn't see them pick anything up. The PA announcer never said where or what the debris was. The video screens/TV screens never showed the debris.
Because of this phantom yellow, this allowed Keselowski to pit and able to finish the race without pitting under green.
This allowed the other drivers to catch up with Menard.
This allowed some drivers to pass Menard on pit row.
If Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr., Matt Kenseth were in Menards position, I would be willing bet my bottom dollar they would not have thrown the caution flag for the phantom debris.
So, I am glad to see NASCAR is getting into the ranks of professional wrestling, boxing and roller derby.
