And The Waste In CCSD Continues On

From The LVRJ: "The Clark County School Board voted unanimously today to seek an outside consultant or search firm to assist them in hiring a new superintendent.
Clark County School District Superintendent Walt Rulffes has announced he will not seek to extend his contract, which ends Aug. 30. School Board members did express interest in keeping Rulffes on as an interim while they look for his successor." http://www.lvrj.com/news/school-board-seeks-outside-help-in-search-for-new-superintendent-90155812.html

In the same meeting that the CCSD board announced that they were eliminate 1077 positions and lay off CCSD employees, they announce they are going to hire an outside firm to help find a new superintendent. I wonder if the board every hearing the word phrase "timing is everything".
Hello, CCSD board, we are having a financial crisis in the schools. CCSD has a huge human resources department and has experience hiring people. They are qualified to do background checks. They will have committees to help. So, why do they have to bring in an outside company at a budget of who knows what, to find a superintendent?

  1. No need to hire an outside firm. Create a panel of current teachers, administrators, and parents and let then choose.

    What waste of money.
