Apartment Diaster

It's been a horrendous week at our apartment and our apartment building.
For the past month, whenever we drained the tub or flushed the toilet, it was literally a crap shoot if the drainage worked. The apartment maintenance workers worked for a week snaking the different pipes and trying to solve the problem. After working without success, the decided to bring in a plumber and they went to work on the problem. They barged into our apartment without asking permission to enter and used some kind of radar device and found out there was a broken line underneath our daughter's bedroom. In Las Vegas, basements are almost unheard of and this is true with our apartment complex. So, to get to the pipe, I had to clear out my daughter's room and they ripped up the carpet the first afternoon. The second day, they brought in the jack hammers and shovels to dig to the pipe and clear it out The apartment people said the work would be done by 11:00 the next day. So, when I get home the next day after work, they had just finished replacing the pipe and were filling in the hole, continuing to use our electricity. Later, they laid the concrete and put plywood and the rug over the wet cement with a promise that they would be back on Monday to remove the plywood.
Cathy, my wonderful wife had to spend 3 days at her friend's house because of the repairs, while I stayed at home at night. On Friday, when the kids came back from their mom's house, the house wreaked of wet cement and dust was flying around. Because 3/4 of our family has allergies and asthma, we knew we could not stay, so we asked the apartment people to put us up at a hotel and they refused. So, we had to stay at a hotel at our expense and we found a room up in Mount Charleston that was quite inexpensive and cheaper than 99% of the hotels in the Valley.
We finally got back to our apartment at 7:00 this evening and the apartment just stunk of wet cement and our daughter is sneezing up a storm and has a running nose. We could move our daughter's bed into her room, but that's it and so our living room is being used as storage for her belongings.
So, we figured that that the apartment complex and their management company broke our lease by providing uninhabitable housing for the week and refusing to reimburse us for any expenses we have incurred and for them stealing our electricity. We found a new place to live in Henderson and will be moving within a week.
And so, how was your week?
