Findlay Prep Wins National Title

Findlay Prep, a school based in Henderson, won the so- called national basketball title today, defeating Montverde Academy of Florida, 59-46. The game was played in Baltimore. The event was the ESPN National High School Invitational. Before the game, Findlay was raked 2nd in the nation while Montverde was ranked first.
Findlay Prep is not a high school but a basketball team. They are associated loosely with Henderson International School. Their basketball team recruits their players from across the United States and maybe beyond. Their team was started with the backing of Cliff Findlay, an auto dealer in the Valley. While they are based in Henderson, they rarely play any Nevada opponents, especially other public high schools. They travel throughout the country to play their games.
Next year, Henderson International is closing it's doors because of financial difficulties. So, Findlay Prep is looking for a new school to become associated with. Ahh, yes, high school basketball at it's best.
