Today, a jury ensured that Las Vegas and the surrounding area will continue to have expensive health care by siding with the plaintiff in the Hepatitis C infection case. These 12 morons voted in favor of the plaintiffs over the drug companies, instead of blaming the clinics, doctors and nurses. The plaintiffs, Henry Chanin and his wife sued and won over $5 million dollars from the morons on the jury.
The drug companies were accused of selling over sized vials of the Michael Jackson death drug, propofol to the clinic. Now mind you, the clinic probably ordered the drug and the sizes and the drug company filled the order. The drug company did not administer the drug nor did they reuse the vials. The doctors and nurses did that.
Using the jury's rationale, now the drug companies are going to have to put their employees inside anywhere they sell drugs- inside a clinic, hospital or doctor's office to ensure that their medication is used properly.
This was a frivolous case that should never have been heard but when it was heard, it was heard by a jury and judge that used it's heart instead it's brain.
And yet the Democrats in Congress and President Obama still don't think we need tort reform.
