From the Las Vegas Sun: A man is dead after being shot during a possible home invasion Saturday morning, police said.

From Channel 13: Metro Police are reporting that a homeowner shot and killed an intruder while defending his home near Bonanza and Pecos.
The shooting happened at around 6:30am Saturday and the homeowner was also shot in the arm by the suspect. The injury to the homeowner is non-life threatening.
Details as to what actually occurred between the homeowner and the intruder are unknown at this point.

This happening more often in the Las Vegas Valley. More and more homeowners are arming themselves and killing the thugs who try to break into homes.
This shooting is very close to my school, so it kind of hits home. What gets me is that criminals still keep on trying to break homes in Las Vegas even though many have been killed by the homeowner.
What also gets me is that there areas in the country that does not allow a homeowner to protect their house with a gun. While I am not a gun nut, I do think that every American should have the right to defend themselves in their home with a gun or rifle.
So, good riddance to this thug. He just caused this homeowner a lot of problems. This homeowner will lose his privacy, faces a police investigation, is having pain because of the gunshot wound, the guilt of killing the thug, possible nightmares, the cleanup of the blood and so much more.
So, goodbye, thug. You have caused a lot of pain to the homeowner and your family and your friends. Was it worth it?

  1. Hopefully, his injury will heal quickly and cleanly. The facts of the case argue strongly for justifiable self-defense. 6:30 a.m. is too early for census workers, Jehovah's Witnesses, or anyone else with a peaceful purpose. Also, the thug had a gun. So, unless it turns out that the invasion wasn't random (drug dealers are often targeted because their associates know they have a lot of cash on the premises), there will hopefully be no legal repercussions and very few feelings of guilt.
