Harmon Hotel To Bo Boom, Splat

From the LVRJ: MGM Resorts International told the Clark County Building Department Monday it will demolish the structurally troubled Harmon Tower, which is part of the $8.5 billion CityCenter development.
A structural engineer has said the unfinished 27-story tower on the Strip is in danger of collapsing in a major earthquake. Construction defect issues surrounding the Harmon are the focus of a lawsuit between MGM Resorts, which is the operator and half-owner of CityCenter, and Perini Building Co., CityCenter's general contractor

The excuse the MGM is giving is bogus. The Harmon was not needed as there is a glut of hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip and the Las Vegas Valley in general and they are hoping that another company, mainly Perini, is going to pay for MGM's multi-million dollar mistake.
However, if the Harmon is imploded, hopefully I'll be able to watch it. I think there may be a race to see which is imploded first, parts of the Sahara or the Harmon.
