Las Vegas Priest Removed From Church

Monsignor Kevin McAuliff appears to have been removed from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Summerlin. He had been removed under questions regarding some financial questions at the Church.
From the Las Vegas Catholic Diocese SEAS web site, they have removed his name from the Pastoral staff and named an interim administrator, Father James Jankowski. http://www.lasvegas-diocese.org/parishes_st_elizabeth.html
However, in the latest church bulletin Monsignor McAuliff is still listed.

Here is the picture of McAuliff from the Diocese web site: http://www.lasvegas-diocese.org/priests.php?action=list&id=63 It lists him still being on administrative leave.
Rumor has it, from this web site, that Monsignor McAuliff had been gambling, possibly sports betting. No big deal about that, unless he was using funds other than his own money. However, these are just rumors.

And for the record, Monsignor McAuliff has not been arrested.

  1. Sorry, but you're wrong. The diocese removed Msgr Kevin's name from the diocesan website under St Elizabeth's the week after he began his leave of absence. That was 9 weeks ago, so there's no new news here. He is still listed on the bulletin because he is canonically still the pastor. He has not been removed nor has he resigned. You'll have to call the website admin for the diocese to see why his name was removed. Unfortunately speculation serves only to make more confusion.

  2. Sorry, but I just don't read the Diocese web site everyday.

  3. Now that I think about it, that is not true. When I was doing the first post, and a few days later, his name did not have the "on administrative leave", so it came at least a few days/weeks later.

  4. I do not know the exact date his name was removed, but I do know it was shortly after his leave was announced...this is absolutely NO NEW DEVELOPMENT! Your title for this particular post is INCORRECT, because Msgr McAuliffe WAS NOT REMOVED FROM THE CHURCH. HE IS STILL CANONICALLY THE PASTOR BUT RELIEVED OF HIS DUTIES UNTIL THERE IS SOME END TO THIS. Please don't read into things without checking out tge FACTS.

  5. You would do a service to truth and charity by removing this post because it is neither truthful nor charitable.

  6. Tell why it is not truthful. And charitable? That doesn't make sense. If anything, the Diocese and McAuliff are not the one's being charitable by letting this hang over SEAS and it's parishoners.

  7. It's not truthful because he was NOT REMOVED from the parish. It's not charitable because your false reporting incites negative thoughts that are not based in reality.

  8. McAuliff HAS been removed from the Church- he is on administrive leave from the Curch. The Diocese doesn't acknowledge to work at SEAS. Those are the facts and reality. Maybeyou have your beliefs, which is fine.
And again, the Diocese and McAuliff are the ones keeping the negative thoughts going by not informing the parish of what is going on. And the longer this goes on, the more negative thoughts there are.
The longer this drags on, the more I think there maybe something to do with the rumours.
Maybe you need to call the Diocese and complain about what is going on.
