For those growing up in the Milwaukee area in the 1970 and 1980's, listening to Larry the Legend was a daily morning activity. With newsman, David Haynes, they made quite a pair. Well, Larry the Legend passed away last Wednesday.
From jsonline: The man known as Larry (the Legend) Johnson died of pneumonia early Wednesday, according to his family. He was 78.
Johnson long ruled the airwaves as the top jock in the market, including at WISN-AM and WZUU-FM. He stood out for both his distinctive Southern accent and his banter, including the way he liked to tell people to "Speak your onions."
For the record, his real name was Aaron Rockwell Johnson.
Services are being planned for Tuesday
