From the Reno Gazette Herald: A small plane took off from Burning Man and crashed upon its return Friday night, Washoe County sheriff's Sgt. Doug Brady said Saturday.
The pilot and a passenger walked away from the crash, though the pilot called it a "hard landing," Brady said.
The crash was on the Smoke Creek side of Burning Man, Brady said.
He said the pilot wasn't entirely sure about how to land his plane.

The pilot and passenger are darn lucky they were not killed along with others on the ground near Burning Man because of the pilot's stupidity.
If this pilot does have a pilot's license, it should be revoked immediately and run an inquiry as to how this fool got his license in the first place.
I just wonder how many more pilots like this are out there flying?

More that you would like to think. All you have to do is read some of the comments and questions from Private Pilots on various pilot web sites. It is pretty scary the level of incompetence that many pilots have.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to judge when you don't know the facts.
ReplyDeleteI do, and this was an unfortunate accident.
