Nevada Resident Killed In Afghanistan

t has not been a good couple of weeks in the Reno area. First, the shooting in the IHOP in Carson City that killed 4 people then the air race disaster that killed 12 and now comes word that a soldier from Reno has died in Afghanistan.
From the RGH: A Reno soldier based in Alaska has died in Afghanistan, the Pentagon has announced.
Sgt. Timothy D. Sayne, 31, of Reno died Sunday after his unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device, the military said. Sayne was in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan.
He was was a cavalry scout assigned to the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at the base in Fairbanks.
