From the Minot Daily News: Free french fries are on the menu in Grand Forks as officials and residents make their annual attempt to eclipse their own record.
The event dubbed the "World's Largest French Fry Feed" is being held Thursday in University Park. It's held annually during Potato Bowl week in Grand Forks, which celebrates the potato industry in the Red River Valley. This week's events culminate Saturday with a University of North Dakota football game against Black Hills State at the Alerus Center.
The J.R. Simplot Co., which has a french fry plant in Grand Forks, supplies the spuds for the annual feed. The record was set in 2008, when 4,890 pounds of fries were served.

That seems like a record Las Vegas could set easily.
Well, I suppose the NoDaks will need to bulk up for another cold and snowy winter in the red River Valley.
Let's just hope the Obama's don't get wind of this and shut it down in favor of a Brussels Sprout eating contest.
