Tomorrow starts a repaving project on the I-15, right in the heart of Las Vegas and on Las Vegas's busiest road.
The sad part is that the project is not needed. It was just repaved a couple of years ago and the road is in pretty good condition. No pot holes, no rough roads- nothing wrong with it.
Now, I realize we need to put some road construction workers to work, but why on the busiest stretch of road, creating horrible traffic jams?
Here's a suggestion. The first suggestion is to repave Las Vegas Blvd. from the M-Resort south to Jean. That road is horrible shape and the traffic disruption is minimal.
The second suggestion is repaving the I-15 by N. Las Vegas Blvd and go to Apex or the Hwy 93 on/off ramp. Again, the road needs it and the traffic disruption is minimal.
But repaving the I-15 by Strip does nothing except create traffic jams, pisses off drivers, puts workers in danger and will create numerous accidents. But it pleases State and local bureaucrats who were probably having a hangover and lacked the mental competence on the day they decided to do the project.
What a bunch of dumbass State and local bureaucrats.
