Where To Watch The Strip's Fireworks

There are many areas of the Las Vegas valley to watch the Strip's New Years fireworks display.  Since the Las valley is a valley, surrounded by mountains and their foothills, and the Strip is basically at the bottom of the valley, all you have to do is find an area taller than the Strip to watch the fireworks.
Some of the favorite places of mine are in Henderson.  Horizon Ridge Parkway, from Horizon to about Gibson offer great views, however, home construction by Gibson and Horizon Ridge has taken place and we have lost some areas to watch the fireworks.
Another place is along Lake Mead Parkway, in Henderson, from Burkholder going east towards Lake Mead offers a wide, straight on view of the Strip and fireworks, probably the best view in town.
In other areas of the valley, if you live in eastern Las Vegas, Hollywood Blvd. offers a great view and in Summerlin, Freedom Park, I believe, by Bonner School also offers a nice view.
So, if you are up and want to watch the 8 minute show, just go to a place in the foothills of the mountains and watch the fireworks.  Of course, a few minutes in and the fireworks are difficult to see because of all the smoke.  But it certainly beats going to the Strip and fighting the drunks and the traffic.
