From the Reno Gazette Journal:
While it’s not uncommon to come across a dead animal in the desert around Fallon, the thirteen dogs found with gunshot wounds to their heads near the rural Nevada town over the past month is anything but normal, said Teresa Summers, who oversees a non-profit animal shelter there.
“Our concern is that people are going to get the impression that people in Churchill County, if they don’t want an animal anymore they just take it out and shoot it,” Summers said Tuesday from the Churchill Animal Protection Society in Fallon.
She added, “This is not the norm, this is not the norm at all.”
Churchill County Sheriff Ben Trotter says the death toll climbed to 13 Monday when a Reno TV news crew found two more carcasses to add to 11 discovered previously on the outskirts of Fallon...

I'm sorry, but to just shoot them without trying to give them a good home is just sick. Hopefully the cops will find out who did this and throw their ass in jail.
