From Fox News: Asiana Airlines said Monday that the pilot in control of the Boeing 777 that crashed in San Francisco Saturday had little experience flying that type of plane and was landing one for the first time at that airport.
Asiana spokeswoman Lee Hyomin told the Associated Press Monday that Lee Gang-guk was trying to get used to the 777 during Saturday's crash landing. She says the pilot had nearly 10,000 hours flying other planes, including the Boeing 747, but had only 43 hours on the 777.
Hyomin told Reuters that co-pilot Lee Jeong-min has 3,220 hours of flying experience with the Boeing 777 and a total of 12,387 hours of flying experience, and was helping his colleague with the landing.

And then you have this:
An autopsy was being conducted Sunday to determine whether one of the two teenage passengers killed on the Asiana Airlines flight had been run over by a San Francisco fire rig at the crash scene.
The 16-year-old girl was found near the evacuation slide from the left side of Asiana Flight 214 that crashed Saturday while landing at San Francisco International Airport. The girl was not identified.
San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White said Sunday that her injuries are consistent with having been run over. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/SF-plane-crash-Victim-may-have-been-run-over-4651323.php
I can see how this happened: the driver of the fire truck was concentrating on the fire and not on the ground and so was the officer on the truck. It's too bad, because if true, it was too preventable.
