Will The Weather Service Get It Right?

The National Weather Service is predicting that Las Vegas will receive about 1/2 inch of rain tomorrow.
I am of the opinion that the weather service and all the weather people in town are idiots and have no clue what they are talking about.
My guess will be either get little or no rain or we will get about 2-3 inches of rain.
Who will be right me or the weather people?

If You Don't Like Irish Music, Don't Bother Watching

I warned you, if you don't like Irish music, don't watch the video.
But this video has my 2 favorite Irish songs: Lord of the Dance and Irish Washer Woman/Irish Jig by Andre Rieu and his orchestra.

Yeah, I warned you.

This Is Wrong

From the LVRJ: The roadblock standing between more than half of Clark County’s 24,000 high school juniors and graduation may have been removed, or at least reduced, on Wednesday by the Nevada Board of Education.
The board lowered the minimum passing score to 242 out of 500 possible points on the controversial math proficiency exam required to graduate, a change that applies to current juniors and sophomores who originally needed a score of 300.
District sophomores haven’t taken the exam yet, but juniors have taken it twice and 59 percent haven’t met the original passing score. In their first attempt at the test last spring, members of the class of 2015 posted Clark County School District’s worst pass rate in recent history with 68 percent of students failing the test.
All 14,107 district juniors were expected to retake the math proficiency for a third time next week. But Wednesday’s decision could mean that nearly 6,400 of them are off the hook, their failing scores turned into passing scores overnight.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada-and-west/education-board-lowers-math-test-minimum-passing-score
So, all the people who have taken proficiencies over the years and failed the math portion, will they be able to get their diploma's?
This may very well open up a can of worms and the state will see several lawsuits from people who failed the math portion and passed all the other proficiencies and they will say they now should been able to graduate.
And can we say "dumbed down"?

Shame LVRJ:

The Las Vegas Review Journal, a fairly conservative newspaper, is now call bbies "it".
From the LVRJ: The Metropolitan Police Department’s abuse and neglect unit is investigating the death of a 6-month-old baby in Las Vegas on Thursday, which appears to be accidental, police said Thursday.
Las Vegas police Lt. John Liberty said officers responded to the 3800 block of Mountain Vista St. at 12:47 p.m. and performed CPR on the baby before it was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where it was pronounced dead.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/police-investigate-death-6-month-old-baby
Why couldn't the author say the baby died instead of calling the baby "it".
Seems to be a bit insensitive.

Pawn Stars review For February 20, 2014

Sorry again for the delay.  I had lot's to do and had the Daytona 500 to take away a lot of my time on Sunday.
So, how popular are Pawn Stars?  They just had a major criminal case in the Denver, CO area named after them:
From the Denver Post: Two Aurora men have been indicted for allegedly stealing and reselling expensive jewelry, diamonds and watches, the Colorado Attorney General's office said Wednesday.
Karen Gasparyan, 31, and Mohinder Grover, 63, the owner of the Gold Exchange at 3140 S. Parker Road, face felony charges including check fraud, theft and forgery.
They are accused of violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act and engaging in a pattern of racketeering.
The Gold Exchange is a franchise and only Grover's Aurora store is involved in the indictment, according to authorities.
The Aurora Police Department, the FBI and the Cherry Hills Village Police Department were all involved in the investigation code-named "Pawn Stars." http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_25232356/pawn-stars-probe-nets-two-colorado-men-theft
So, Karen Gasparyan is a guy.  Didn't the parents ever hear of the record by Johnny Cash and "A Boy Name Sue"?

In the first episode, the story line was Corey reading reviews online and it frustrated Corey and Rick.  The reviews supposedly said they had to wait a long time to get service and employees calling each other names on the sales floor.  So, Rick brought in a guy to talk about sensitivity training/better customer service. In the end, Chumlee wrote an online review praising himself.

The first guy had a rock crawler mini monster truck for sale and Rick went to look at it out in the desert. http://www.lasvegasrockcrawlers.com/
They met out by Nellis AFB, by I-15.  Rick has been roc crawling many times and had some interesting experiences.  They took it for a ride in the desert.  Rick offered $35,000 and the guy asked for $50,000.  Rick went to $41,000 and that was the sale price.
The next guy brought in a game worn Dallas Cowboy uniform of Bob Hayes.  http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/news/2002/09/19/hayes_obit_ap/
The guy wanted $10,000.  Corey demanded to know how the seller knew it was Hayes.  Time for an expert.  Jeremy came in to look at the jersey.  He said because of the time the uniform was made and when Hayes played as a rookie, it wasn't the uniform Hayes wore.  He did say that it was a real Cowboy uniform from 1962 and was worth about $250.  Corey wasn't interested so there was no sale.
Art Deco Drive-In Movie Theater Speakers
The next guy came in with an old drive in movie theater speaker.  The guy wanted $300 and Corey offered $100 and then $110 and that was the deal.
Las Vegas still has a drive in: http://www.westwinddriveins.com/westwind/index.php?r=drivein/location&idtheater=614
1795 9leaf ms61 spinks The Magnolia Collection of Early U.S. Gold Coins, late 19th century Patterns, Trade Dollars and more!
The next guy came in a 1809 $5 gold coin.  The guy wanted $31,510 and Rick had to do his research.  Rick offered $27,000 cash and then $26,00 and was firm.  The guy went down to $27,000 and there was no sale.
In the 2nd episode, the story line was Chumlee wanted a raise.  Rick told Chumlee to write the good themselves about himself and what he needed to work on.  Corey also had to write one as well.  Chumlee made up a list of his qualities but Rick turned it around and said they were his weak points.
Chumlee tried to have a 50% sale on some items.

The first guy brought in 1970 Siffert Heur Autavia wrist watch.    https://www.manoftheworld.com/blog/vintage-watch-wednesday-jo-siffert-and-heuer-autavia  The band was replaced but had a paper with the serial number on it.  The guy wanted $12,000.  Rick offered $7,000 and then $8000 and that was the deal and then Rick went to the back of the shop to make sure it's real.  Rick said he could not get the back of the watch off but still kept his word and bought the watch.

The next guy brought in a Masonic sword from the 19th century.  http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/religion/re0161.html
Rick said the sword was not a Masonic sword.  It turns out that it was a Knights of Columbus sword. http://www.kofc.org/en/
Rick didn't want to buy it.

The next guy brought in a Gibson Master Museum SJ acoustic guitar.  The serial number was #1.  The guy wanted $50,000.  Time for an expert, Jesse.  Jesse played the guitar and it sounded pretty good and said it was the Rolex of Gibson Guitars.  He said it was worth $50-60,000.  Corey offered $40,000 and then $43,000 and then $45,000.  The owner stood still at $48,000 and that was the sale price.  Then the seller had second thoughts and backed out even when Corey offered $50,000 and showed him the money.
And that was the end of the show, with Chumlee making a fool of himself.
Thanks for reading and sorry again for being so late again.

Perhaps This Is The Problem?

Las Vegas Metro cops are not going to respond to property damage only accidents.
From the LVRJ:
Las Vegas police clarified Wednesday how their new policy involving non-injury accidents will affect the public when the program begins March 3.
“We want to increase police presence where we notice heavier areas of fatalities,” said Metro Sgt. Todd Raybuck. “The alarming increase in fatalities over the last two years was the reason for this.”
Although the Traffic Bureau has seen fewer officers on patrol in the last 18 months, Raybuck said the changes were made with the idea of reducing fatalities, not saving money...
http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas-police-seek-clarify-new-car-accident-response-policy
Yeah, well, that is a bunch of BS because other Metro officers could patrol those areas along with the motorcycle cops.
Perhaps this is the cause of the problem: According to Raybuck, Metro responded to over 23,000 crashes in 2013, 60 percent of which didn’t result in injuries. He said the average response time for each accident was more than 90 minutes.
90 minutes to investigate fender benders?  That's only 4-5 accidents an 8 hour shift these cops, who are trained to investigate accidents, investigate.
I have written several times how the NHP milks the clock investigating accidents.  It also appears that Metro is milking the clock when it comes time to investigating accidents.
Shame on Metro.

Uh,Senile Harry Reid, Is This Fake?

train-wrecks-accidents-0
From the Wall Street Journal: When my mother was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer in 2005, when she was 49, it came as a lightning shock. Her mother, at 76, had yet to go gray, and her mother's mother, at 95, was still playing bingo in her nursing home. My mother had always been, despite her diminutive frame, a titanic and irrepressible force of vitality and love. She had given birth to me and my nine younger siblings, and juggled kids, home and my father's medical practice with humor and grace for three decades. She swam three times a week in the early mornings, ate healthily and never smoked.
And now, cancer? Anyone who's been there knows that a cancer diagnosis is terrifying. A lot goes through your mind and heart: the deep pang of possible loss (what would my father and all of us do without her?), and the anguish and anger at what feels like injustice (after decades of mothering and managing dad's practice, she was just then going back to school)....
And then in November, along with millions of other Americans, she lost her health insurance. She'd had a Blue Cross/Blue Shield plan for nearly 20 years. It was expensive, but given that it covered her very expensive treatment, it was a terrific plan. It gave her access to any specialist or surgeon, and to the Sandostatin and other medications that were keeping her alive.
And then, because our lawmakers and president thought they could do better, she had nothing. Her old plan, now considered illegal under the new health law, had been canceled....
Then on Feb. 12, just before going into (yet another) surgery, she was informed by Humana that it would not, in fact, cover her Sandostatin, or other cancer-related medications. The cost of the Sandostatin alone, since Jan. 1, was $14,000, and the company was refusing to pay.
The news was dumbfounding. This is a woman who had an affordable health plan that covered her condition. Our lawmakers weren't happy with that because . . . they wanted plans that were affordable and covered her condition. So they gave her a new one. It doesn't cover her condition and it's completely unaffordable.  http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303945704579390772732855560?mod=trending_now_5
So, Senile/Coward/Liar Harry Reid, you said all these people are fakes.  What do you say now?
Felony Thief Dina Titus, a House of Representative member and who voted for ObamaCare, what do you say about this poor woman and all the other lives you have hurt?
President Obama, are you proud of what you have done to this woman and others like her?
And the train wreck continues.

And The ObamaCare Train Wreck Continues On And On And On

train-wrecks-accidents-23
From the Best of the Web: Remember when Obama said "the private sector is doing fine"? It was at a June 2012 news conference, and here's the context:
The truth of the matter is that, as I said, we've created 4.3 million jobs over the last 27 months, over 800,000 just this year alone. The private sector is doing fine. Where we're seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government--oftentimes, cuts initiated by governors or mayors who are not getting the kind of help that they have in the past from the federal government and who don't have the same kind of flexibility as the federal government in dealing with fewer revenues coming in.
Last week the New York Times reported on an example of unhelpful behavior from Washington: "Cities, counties, public schools and community colleges around the country have limited or reduced the work hours of part-time employees to avoid having to provide them with health insurance under the Affordable Care Act."
That's right, ObamaCare's employer mandate applies to the public as well as the private sector, and although it's been delayed until next year, "many public employers have already adopted policies, laws or regulations" to avoid its costliest effects, the Times reports.
That means making sure part-time workers don't reach 30 hours a week, the threshold at which the mandate kicks in: "Among those whose hours have been restricted in recent months are police dispatchers, prison guards, substitute teachers, bus drivers, athletic coaches, school custodians, cafeteria workers and part-time professors."
Local officials from across the country describe the dilemmas ObamaCare has forced upon them. "Are we supposed to lay off full-time teachers so that we can provide insurance coverage to part-time employees?" asks Mark Benigni, schools superintendent of Meriden, Conn. "If I had to cut five reading teachers to pay for benefits for substitute teachers, I'm not sure that would be best for our students."
In suburban Cleveland, Mayor Dennis Hanwell of Medina (population 26,678), tells the paper his city had to reduce the hours--and thus the pay--of office clerks, sanitation men, park inspectors and police dispatchers to 29 hours from 35. "Our choice was to cut the hours or give them health care, and we could not afford the latter," the mayor says.  http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304709904579407261250790736?mg=reno64-wsj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.wsj.com%2Farticle%2FSB10001424052702304709904579407261250790736.html
ObamaCare is hurting the nation and cutting hours of the common working man.
People have been laid off and others have had their hours cut.
The next big shoe to drop may be Wal-Mart.  The store I work at have cut the vast majority of workers hours to under 30 hours.  By doing this, they are hurting some of the employees where Wal-Mart is there only job.
While some people will blame Wal-Mart, the true culprit is Obama/Reid/Pelosi/Titus and the Democrats.  They put this law on the books and businesses are reacting to it.
If it weren't for ObamaCare, these Wal-Mart workers would be putting in more hours and getting more pay.

Senile Harry Reid Contyinues To Have Foot In Mouth Disease

foot in mouth
And Nevada gets embarrassed again.
From Fox News: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is being hammered by Republican lawmakers after he claimed on the Senate floor that all the ObamaCare "horror stories" being circulated are untrue.
Reid tried to clarify his remarks late Wednesday by saying he was only referring to the “vast majority” of stories featured in ads funded by Americans for Prosperity, a conservative group, and not the complaints of everyday Americans. However, he added fuel to the fire by continuing to slam the group’s backers, the Koch brothers, calling them “un-American.”
Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., called Reid's original remarks "astounding and offensive."
Reid said Wednesday morning on the Senate floor that he believes Americans for Prosperity hires actors in their ads to tell fake stories about canceled policies, higher premiums and ruined lives under ObamaCare.
“There’s plenty of horror stories being told,” Reid said. “All of them are untrue. But they’re being told all over America.”
It was an apparent reference to, among other instances, an AFP ad that featured a woman with cancer who claimed her health care became unaffordable under the law. Her story was called into question by critics, but she and AFP are standing by the ad.
The outcry over Reid's comments from Republican lawmakers was swift. Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., said he is demanding Reid apologize to those who have felt ill effects from ObamaCare.
“The majority leader, and any Democrat who agrees with him, owes an apology to all Americans who are suffering under this disastrous law and whose personal stories he has dismissed as ‘untrue,’” he said.  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/26/reid-hammered-by-gop-after-claiming-all-obamacare-horror-stories-untrue/
Senile/Coward/Liar is an embarrassment to the State of Nevada that he pretends to represent.  He doesn't live in Nevada anymore and doesn't represent the State in a competent manner.  He only represents elected Democrats and their power and does President Obama's bidding.
It would be nice if the Democrats in Nevada go up to him and say to Senile Reid: " Harry, you have served a long time and it now it has become too long.  You no longer represent us and the values of Nevada and it's time to move on."

How Sad

A reward of up to $2,500 is offered for information leading to an arrest in the hit-and-run death of Bobbi Roberts, 20, of Clinton Township.
From the Detroit Free Press: “See you later.”
Three little words people say to their loved ones, friends and colleagues every day.
But for Carolin Roberts, they were the last words she ever said to her youngest child, Bobbi Roberts.
Hours after the pair said, “I love you” to each other last fall, a hit-and-run driver struck 20-year-old Bobbi Roberts as she walked home from work, leaving the Macomb Community College student dying in the street just 10 minutes from her Clinton Township home.
“They killed a piece of me, too,” Carolin Roberts said Tuesday after a reward of up to $2,500 was offered for information leading to an arrest in her daughter’s death. “They could die a thousand deaths and never feel the pain me and my family are feeling.
“You’re not supposed to bury your babies. They have no idea what they’ve done. We’re just broken. Just broken.”
Roberts said her daughter was an avid walker, preferring to walk about 25 minutes to her job as a prep cook at the Twisted Rooster in Chesterfield Township instead of taking the bus.
The 2012 Mt. Clemens High School graduate and honors student was found lying partially in the right lane and shoulder of northbound Gratiot a half-mile from Hall Road at 11:25 p.m. Nov. 29.
A passing motorist saw her on the road, turned around, called 911 and waited for police. Bobbi Roberts, who wanted to join the military and loved traveling and taking selfies, was pronounced dead at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens. http://www.freep.com/article/20140226/NEWS04/302260025/macomb-county-hit-and-run-fatal
I hope the cops in Michigan catch this sob who killed this girl.

This Will Drive Liberals Nuts

From the Houston Chronicle: Never-before-seen paintings by former president George W. Bush will go on display in Dallas this spring.
The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will feature "The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Dipolomacy" starting in April. It showcases more than two dozen portraits by Bush along with artifacts, photographs and other personal items.
The collection will focus on Bush's relationships with other world leaders as well as the importance of global diplomacy.
Bush has said that he started painting after his terms in the White House, and his images of family pets and landscapes have circulated the Internet since last year. He even Jay Leno with a portrait he painted of the "Tonight Show" host in November 2013.  http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/texas/article/George-W-Bush-s-paintings-to-go-on-display-5266044.php?cmpid=hpts
Let's see.  Most people who are in the arts are liberal.  Most of those who buy the paintings probably are liberal.
And now George W. Bush throws his paintings into the mix.
What are liberals to do.
These Bush paintings may be bring top dollar.
Does the liberal buy these paintings for investment purposes?
Or do they let it go and lose money?
It sucks to be a liberal.

Band Member Tries To Live Up To Group's Name

From the San Fran Chronicle: The lead singer of Grammy-nominated metal band As I Lay Dying pleaded guilty Tuesday to trying to hire someone to kill his estranged wife.
Timothy Lambesis, 32, remains free on $2 million bond until he is sentenced May 2 on one count of solicitation of murder in Vista Superior Court, north of San Diego.
Lambesis was recorded telling an undercover agent that he wanted his wife killed, according to prosecutors. The investigation began last April after Lambesis allegedly told a personal trainer at his gym that he wanted to get rid of his wife.
The undercover agent, San Diego County Sheriff's Officer Howard Bradley, testified last year that Lambesis met him at an Oceanside bookstore in May and said he wanted his wife "gone."
Bradley said he asked Lambesis directly if he wanted his wife killed, and the singer replied, "'Yes, I do.'"
Lambesis said his wife, Meggan Lambesis, had restricted his visits with their three adopted children after they separated in September 2012, Bradley testified at a preliminary hearing. The singer also told the agent that he was angry that Meggan Lambesis would get a large share of his income in a divorce settlement.  http://www.sfgate.com/news/crime/article/As-I-Lay-Dying-singer-admits-seeking-wife-s-murder-5267199.php
Maybe he believes too much in his band's name?

Ugh

From the Las Vegas Sun: A San Diego family is suing Petco after the death of their 10-year-old son from a bacterial infection they say he contracted from his pet rat.
Attorney John Gomez told the Associated Press on Tuesday that his firm filed the lawsuit Monday in San Diego County seeking an unspecified amount for the suffering endured by the Pankey family, whose son, Aidan, died June 12, 2013, hours after he was rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pains.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that the cause of death was streptobacillus moniliformis infection, commonly known as rat-bite fever, after exposure to an infected rat.
The retailer in a statement expressed its condolences.
"We are deeply saddened by the Pankey family's tragic loss," Petco said in a statement. "The health and safety of people and pets is always a top priority, and we take the family's concerns very seriously." http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/feb/25/child-dies-infected-rat-family-sues-petco/
I remember when I bought two rats from a pet store in Madison, WI.
The store said they were both females and not pregnant.  Well, one of them was pregnant and it had babies.
And soon, their babies had babies.
Finally, I took all of them to the humane society in Madison to stop the madness.
I don't know if the family will win any money, though it seems that good old hand washing may have been in order.

Eric Holder's Legacy

This is Eric Holder's Department of Justice employees.
Just another reason why he should be impeached and eventually, jailed for corruption.
From jsonline:
ATF agents have lost track of dozens of government-issued guns, after stashing them under the front seats in their cars, in glove compartments or simply leaving them on top of their vehicles and driving away, according to internal reports from the past five years obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Agents left their guns behind in bathroom stalls, at a hospital, outside a movie theater and on a plane, according to the records, obtained Tuesday by the news organization under the federal Freedom of Information Act.
In December 2009, two 6-year-old boys spotted an agent's loaded ATF Smith & Wesson .357 on a storm sewer grate in Bettendorf, Iowa. The agent lived nearby and later said he couldn't find his gun for days but didn't bother reporting it — until it hit the local newspaper.
In Los Angeles in 2011, an agent went out to a bar drinking with other agents and friends, reportedly consuming four alcoholic beverages. The next morning he woke up and realized his ATF-issued Glock was gone. It was not found.
All of the agents' names are blacked out on the reports, which do not say if the agents were disciplined. It is clear that agency rules were not followed in many of the incidents, which show at least 49 guns were lost or stolen nationwide between 2009 and 2013.
One report on an agent who lost her gun when she moved concluded by quoting an ATF order that, in part, says bureau-issued guns when not carried or in the immediate control of the agents "shall be stored in secured, locked locations."

The Obama/Reid/Pelosi/TitusCare Train Wreck Continues

a train wrecks accidents 24 Train wrecks through the years (30 photos)
From Fox News:
Tucked deep in the Affordable Care Act is language requiring all restaurants with at least 20 locations to list nutritional information alongside each and every item on their menu.
That edict is now creating headaches for small business owners across the country, particularly pizza chains.
Take Domino's. There are 34 million different pizza combinations available at the chain, when all crusts and cheeses and toppings are factored in.
Now imagine walking into a Domino's and navigating a menu board with 34 million different options on it.
Executives say figuring out the small print will be a big burden.
"Our company, like many pizza enterprises, is individual small business franchisees, so these are people that own three or four, or one or two Domino's pizza stores," said Domino's spokeswoman Lynn Liddle. "To have to redo the menu boards every time something changes on a calorie count would cost them several thousand dollars."
Liddle said the FDA has suggested offering a calorie range for different pies, instead of listing each and every possibility -- but she said that isn't helpful, since 90 percent of their business comes in over the phone or online. And none of those people ever set foot in the store, where the menu board would be.
Domino's has posted some nutritional information online for 13 years, and would like that to satisfy the FDA.
Some supporters of the Affordable Care Act are starting to agree.
"What the FDA did, I think, was really an overreach," Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., told Fox News.  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/25/obamacare-menu-headache/
Nevadans have good old Harry Reid to blame for ObamaCare but we also have Felony Thief Dina Titus to thank for ObamaCare as she voted for it before she was booted out of office for two years.
Hopefully, there will be a decent challenger to the Felony Thief Titus as she is a very despicable human being.  She says she is for Veterans buts votes against them.  She is a thief as she has stolen thousands of dollars from taxpayers for being a horrible teacher, just like she is a horrible human being and politician.
So, the train wreck continues, thanks to Reid, Pelosi, Obama And Felony Thief Dina Titus.

Here's An Idea:

The vast majority of Americans hate ObamaCare.
Now, the IRS is going to delve even more deeply into our private information.
From American Tax Reform:
President Obama’s Internal Revenue Service today quietly released a series of Obamacare “Health Care Tax Tips” warning Americans that they must obtain “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by the federal government – or face a “shared responsibility payment” when filing their tax returns in 2015. The term “shared responsibility payment” refers to the Obamacare individual mandate tax, one of at least seven tax hikes in the healthcare law that directly hit families making less than $250,000 per year.
In “Four Tax Facts about the Health Care Law for Individuals” the agency writes:
Your 2014 tax return will ask if you had insurance coverage or qualified for an exemption.  If not, you may owe a shared responsibility payment when you file in 2015.
In “The Individual Shared Responsibility Payment- An Overview” the agency warns Americans they must prove they were covered each and every month of the year:
For any month in 2014 that you or any of your dependents don’t maintain coverage and don’t qualify for an exemption, you will need to make an individual shared responsibility payment with your 2014 tax return filed in 2015.
In “IRS Reminds Individuals of Health Care Choices for 2014”the agency details the calculations Americans can look forward to if they are liable for the tax:
Read more: http://atr.org/irs-warns-obamacare-tax-must-paid-a8164#ixzz2uPLW5bn9
So, what will happen if those of us refuse to answer the IRS questions about healthcare insurance?
What are they going to do?  Kick back millions of tax returns?  I doubt it, especially if are not allowed to do that.
That is one way to show Washington D.C. and Obama and is ilk how much we hate him. and his views.

The ObamaCare Train Wreck Continues

Photo from the train-wreck scene in Buster Keaton's "The General"
From the Baltimore Sun:
Maryland has terminated its contracts with the company hired to build and operate the state’s online health exchange, which has been riddled with problems since its launch in October.
The board overseeing the exchange voted Sunday night to sever ties with Noridian Healthcare Solutions, and the state reserves the right to take the company to court for damages, officials said Monday.
Critics of the botched rollout said Noridian should have been replaced long before now, and they renewed calls for an investigation into why Maryland stumbled with implementation of the Affordable Care Act. The website is so flawed that state officials are considering abandoning it after open enrollment ends next month.
The decision ends a $193 million deal for North Dakota-based Noridian to build and host the online insurance marketplace for the next five years. For now, the state will rely on Optum/QSSI, a Columbia-based company hired in December to help fix Maryland’s exchange.
Officials said the move would help more people sign up for health insurance before the March 31 deadline.

So many State exchanges have been total disaster, including Nevada. Oregon and Maryland's web sites.  And now Maryland is switching companies?
Another admission that ObamaCare has been a complete train wreck,

Good Riddance

From the Detroit Free Press:
Detroit is losing one of the auto industry’s most passionate defenders and decades of institutional knowledge with U.S. Rep. John Dingell’s decision not to seek re-election this year.
Few public officials so effectively protected his district’s largest industry the way Dingell shielded Ford, General Motors and Chrysler from what they regarded as regulatory and environmental over-reach. He led the push for federal assistance that allowed GM and Chrysler to restructure through bankruptcy in 2009.  http://www.freep.com/article/20140225/BUSINESS07/302250025/Congressman-John-Dingell-auto
This thug politician has been in the House since 1955.  It was time for him to leave 40 years ago.
Dingell is a disgrace for staying so long and he has his hand prints on many bad bills, the latest, ObamaCare.
He is not a patriot but just a thug politician who stayed too long in Congress.

Obama Still Killing The Military

From New York Daily News: With the U.S. out of Iraq and leaving Afghanistan, the Pentagon wants to shrink the Army to its smallest size since before World War II.
The plan to cut the service from 522,000 to fewer than 450,000 active-duty troops is the most dramatic of a series of cuts Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel proposed Monday.
Hagel outlined plans set to be included next week in President Obama’s 2015 budget proposal as the administration works to squeeze defense funding to meet tight spending caps.
The cuts require congressional approval. Lawmakers voiced quick objections, suggesting a pending fight — especially over Hagel’s plan to take on ballooning compensation costs for service members.
Congress voted overwhelmingly this month to repeal a provision to slow growth in pension payments to veterans that was included in a budget bill passed just a few months ago.
The recent votes signal lawmakers’ reluctance to tackle the politically perilous task of trimming rising health care and other costs for former and active service members.

How about a time for honesty for Obama.  Why doesn't he just admit that he hates the military and wants to destroy it.
If he would just admit it, maybe he would feel better about himself and stop cheating on Michelle.

Hey Congressman, What About Black On Black Crime

Rep. Steve Horsford is a hypocrite.
From Channel 13 News:  One lawmaker is now demanding answers from the Bureau of Land Management following an officer-involved shooting that took the life of a man in Red Rock Canyon.
Action News was the first to find the letter from Congressman Steven Horsford's office.
The letter shows Congressman Horsford putting heat on the BLM, looking closely into the circumstances that led to the shooting death of 20-year-old D'Andre Berghardt at Red Rock Canyon on Valentine's Day, all at the hands of BLM officers.
In that letter, written on Monday, Horsford demands the deputy director of the BLM fully reveal, "The circumstances that led to the shooting of Mr. Berghardt," the "...Use of Force training BLM rangers undergo before deployment to the field," and finally, the "...Bureau's preliminary assessment of whether Use of Force protocols were followed." http://www.jrn.com/ktnv/news/Lawmaker-demanding-answers-following-Red-Rock-shooting-247006731.html
The guy that died at Red Rock was running out in the middle of the road, possibly harassing bikers and refused to comply with the police officer's demands to cooperate with them
The cops tried a taser, pepper spray, and hands on.  The thug then got into a NHP trooper's SUV and tried to steal the rifle out of there.
So, because of this, Horsford figures he needs to get into the action because a brother was killed by a white cop.
Of course, Horsford doesn't care 1 little bit about black on black crime in the Las Vegas Valley.
You look on his congressional web site, not a damn word: http://horsford.house.gov/
It's ok for a fellow black person to kill another black person according to Horsford.
But a cop killing a brother thug, hey, that's not ok.
Horsford, you are a hypocrite.

Not Good

From the LVRJ: Southern Nevadans involved in minor, non-injury car accidents shouldn’t expect a response from Las Vegas police starting Monday, part of the department’s shift to focus more on serious accidents and preventing fatalities.
“Fatalities are more important than property-damage crashes,” said Capt. Mark Tavarez of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Traffic Bureau. “We need to focus more on preventing fatalities.”
The bureau has lost 30 officers in the past 18 months after budget cuts, but Tavarez said it’s more about being proactive than it is about losing cops.
“I’ve personally been working on this for two years,” he said. “This has always been an issue for us. This didn’t just come up within the last week or month.”
There were 114 traffic fatalities in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2013, 15 more than in 2012 and 52 more than in 2011.
“If you have a traffic crash that has property damage and your vehicle is movable, we ask that you move your vehicle to the side of the road and collect information from the driver,” Tavarez said.
If the vehicle is disabled, Tavarez said, Metro will call a tow truck. If there is an injury, then medical personnel will come to the scene and determine whether anyone needs to be transported.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/metro-stops-responding-non-injury-crashes-march-3
What this will do is allow Metro to write more tickets for little things and collect more money for Metro.
It will raise car insurance rates for us in the Valley because no one will ever be at fault for an accident.
This is just a temper tantrum by Metro because they did not get their tax increase, something I think is right.
But the Democrats on the Clark County commission have chosen not to fund cops but to fund road builders.  Go figure.

Gotta Love That Government Health Care

From the LVRJ: A recent inspection found that deficiencies and regulatory problems continue at the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, which is under scrutiny by the Nevada attorney general’s office.
The facility was issued 11 citations during a Medicare recertification inspection by the state in late December. One of the citations was for failing to monitor a patient who needed frequent supervision, the same issue related to the death of former Nevada legislator Robert Robinson last summer.
Robinson, who was a resident at the facility, suffered second-degree burns on his legs and other body parts when he was left outside in extreme heat for an extended period of time without supervision. He died three weeks later of sepsis, cellulitis, cutaneous burns and prolonged environmental heat exposure.
“The facility failed to ensure one of 26 sampled residents was supervised in 30-minute intervals according to the ‘Frequent Resident Observation’ for safety,” according to December state inspection documents.
The veterans home has been under investigation by the attorney general’s office since Robinson’s death. State investigations found several problems at the facility last year.
The attorney general’s office couldn’t comment on the specifics of the ongoing investigation, according to spokeswoman Beatriz Aguirre.
Other problems found during the December inspection included a medication error rate of 15.5 percent, clinical records being incomplete and services not meeting professional standards.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/inspection-finds-new-deficiencies-state-veterans-home
The VA used to be held up by liberals as the prime example of government run health care.
But the VA has been shown to be less than successful in treating our veterans, especially in Nevada.
But now, it seems that the VA is really not as good as it is cracked up to be and so is the myth of government run health care.

Dale Jr. Wins The Daytona 500

From the ESPN: Through rain and wrecks, Dale Earnhardt Jr. ended the only drought that mattered.
NASCAR's most popular driver won the Daytona 500 for the second time, a decade after his first victory in the "Great American Race."
Earnhardt snapped a 55-race winless streak Sunday night that dated to 2012. It ended a streak of futility at Daytona International Speedway, where he finished second in three of the previous four 500s.
He radioed to his crew "this is better than the first one," as he circled the track on his cool-down lap in his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.
Rain stopped the race about 45 minutes after it began for a delay of more than six hours. When it resumed, Earnhardt dominated at the track where his father was killed in an accident on the last lap of the 2001 race. http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/10509602/dale-earnhardt-jr-wins-daytona-500
It was a pretty exciting race, with crashes, close racing and a green whit checker.
So, Dale Jr. comes out of a 2 year slump and finally wins another race.

I'm Sorry For Your Loss, But...

From the LVRJ:
The Los Angeles man shot by park rangers after a routine police stop just outside Las Vegas last week wasn’t homeless, didn’t use hard drugs and wasn’t a violent criminal, according to his father.
D’Andre Berghardt Sr. said he wanted to clear the air about his son, D’Andre Berghardt Jr.
“My son ain’t never been a gang member. He wasn’t violent. He never used hard drugs … I wouldn’t accept that s*** from him,” Berghardt Sr. said in a phone interview from his Los Angeles home.
“I don’t know what these (expletive) out there did to my son, excuse my French,” he said. “I won’t accept it. They’ll never have me believe that my son would have tried to hurt anybody.”
Berghardt Jr., 20, was shot and killed near the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Friday afternoon after Bureau of Land Management rangers responded to call about a pedestrian impeding cyclists along state Route 159.
A video filmed by observers and obtained by the Review-Journal showed the lengthy altercation with rangers, who appeared to use pepper spray to subdue Berghardt Jr. but were unable to arrest him.
BLM officials issued a statement Thursday after avoiding questions for nearly a week. The statement said the rangers also used their batons and Taser stun guns in the struggle, but nothing was effective.
“The officers were unable to gain compliance,” the statement said.
The situation escalated after Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Lucas Schwarzrock arrived several minutes into the confrontation. Berghardt Jr. ran from the officers and tried to open the door of two cars, the BLM said.
The video later showed the rangers holding Berghardt Jr. on the ground. But Berghardt Jr. fought them off, pushed Schwarzrock away and climbed into the trooper’s patrol car. Moments later, a ranger is shown firing into the car, killing Berghardt Jr.
The BLM confirmed Thursday that both rangers fired after Berghardt Jr. reached for the trooper’s AR-15 rifle, which was secured in a locked gun rack. Only one ranger can be seen firing in the video.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/grieving-father-fatal-red-rock-police-shooting-i-won-t-accept-it
Here is the video just before and when the guy was shot:

Here are the facts in the case:
1.  There at least 1-2 calls to 911 stating he was trying to attack bike riders.
2.  The cops responded with 2 very experienced BLM cops and an experienced Highway Patrol officer.
3.  The cops used non-lethal force 3 times.  A taser, hands on fighting and pepper spray to the face all failed.
4.  The thug was violent and probably on drugs.
5.  The thug entered the Highway Patrol SUV and tried to take the rifle out it's case.
6.  The Highway Patrol car has many other items in the SUV that could harm people including flares, batons and other items that can be used as weapons to fight with and he could have possible started the SUV and drove off.
7.  The thug was given ample time and opportunity to surrender.
8.  The cops shoot to kill, not to wound.
9.  The thug tried to enter 2 other cars in an attempt to carjack the drivers.
10.  The thug could have ended the incident at any time, prior to the shooting, and he chose not to.
I understand the father's grief and pain.  But there are a lot of cop haters that commented on the story and blamed the cops with a lot of stupid comments and it's shown their hatred of all cops.
But it my opinion, this was a good shoot by the police.  The thug could have stopped the incident before the shooting and didn't and then when he entered the cop SUV, all bets were off.
Finally, the cops went home safe and sound, the thug is dead and a parent cries for his son.
And the thug is to blame 100%

Big Union Dying?

From the Las Vegas Sun: The United Auto Workers' membership and dues are down sharply from just six years ago. In another sign of weakness, the union suffered a stunning defeat this month when it tried to organize a Tennessee factory run by labor-friendly Volkswagen.
The rejection, by a close vote, was a major setback in the union's effort to expand in the South, where non-union, foreign companies such as VW, Nissan and Hyundai are rapidly growing.
But instead of relief, Detroit's three automakers — Ford, Chrysler and General Motors — are increasingly anxious about the 78-year old union's future.
For them, it's a "devil you know" situation. They worry that the 382,000-member UAW could be absorbed by a more hostile union. Such a merger could disrupt a decade of labor-management peace that has helped America's auto industry survive the financial crisis and emerge much stronger, according to a person with knowledge of executive discussions.
Another union might not be as willing to keep labor costs competitive with overseas automakers, says the person, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are confidential.
Despite talk of a union merger, Gary Chaison, a labor relations professor at Clark University in Worcester, Mass., says he doesn't see the UAW giving up its identity and history by combining with another organization.
"It's something that the employers always fear," he says.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/feb/22/detroit-automakers-worry-about-uaw-money-struggles/
The culinary union here in Las Vegas is a disaster.  They can't get very many contracts with the local casinos/hotels, even though they have tried, they have miserably and spent thousands of dollars trying to unionize the Station Casinos and have failed horrible and they have not won many hearts with their tactics.
In Wisconsin, most of the public unions in the State have been neutered.
We may be seeing the decline of the big labor union as many people have decided that the big union is no longer an ally of the worker and that their dues are being used to give union leaders a lavish lifestyle.

Ann Coulter Is Right About ObamaCare

From Ann Coulter: Liberals are winning wild praise for their candor in admitting problems with Obamacare. It shows you the level of honesty people have come to expect of our liberal friends. Now, liberals are applauded for not lying through their teeth about something.
What are they supposed to say? This Obamacare website is fantastic! And really, haven't you already read all the magazines in your current doctor's office anyway?
The New York Times has described Obama's repeated claim that you could keep your insurance plan and keep your doctor under Obamacare as a mere slip of the tongue: "Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that."
Misspoke? How exactly does one misspeak, word for word, dozens of times, over and over again?
That wasn't misspeaking -- it was a deliberate, necessary lie. Even Democrats couldn't have voted for Obamacare if Americans had known the truth. It was absolutely vital for Obama to lie about people being able to keep their insurance and their doctors.
Of course, it was difficult for voters to know the truth because every time Republicans would try to tell them, the White House and the media would rush in and call the critics liars....

Even when pretending to be critical of Obamacare, liberals lie about the real problems. They tell us they're worried about the percentage of young people signing up for Obamacare. The mix of young and old people in Obamacare is completely irrelevant. It won't help if a lot of young people sign up because their premiums are negligible.
To keep the system afloat, what Obamacare really needs is lots of healthy people, preferably healthy older people. Their premiums are astronomical -- and they won't need much medical treatment.
Premiums are set by your age, not your health. It doesn't matter if you never go to the doctor. Obamacare punishes you for having a healthy lifestyle. The Obamacare tax is a massively regressive poll tax on the middle-aged and the middle class.
Apart from those who are subsidized, everyone pays the exact same amount in penalties or insurance premiums for his age group. It doesn't matter if you don't make as much money as Bill Gates. Any 58-year-old male who doesn't qualify for a subsidy will pay the same Obamacare tax as Gates.
When Margaret Thatcher tried to impose the same tax per person, as a "community charge," there were riots in the street.
Our extremely progressive tax system, where nearly half the country pays no income tax at all, and the other half pays about 40 percent of their income, may not be fair. But most people also don't think it's fair to tax a guy making $80,000 a year the identical amount as one making $80 million a year. That's exactly what Obamacare does.

ObamaCare continues to be a train wreck the Democrats own100%.

It's Black History Month, So...

When I watched the Iowa-Wisconsin Badger basketball game today, there were times when there were 9 white basketball players on the court at the same time.  At the end of the game there were 7 white players on the floor.
You just don't see that in collegiate or professional basketball anymore.
And no, it's not racist to point that out.

This Is Good

From Fox News: U.S. and Mexican authorities captured the world's most powerful drug lord at a hotel in Mazatlan, Mexico on Saturday after a massive search through the home state of the man whose global organization is the leading supplier of cocaine to the United States.
Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, 56, looked pudgy, bowed and much like his wanted photos when he arrived in Mexico City from Mazatlan in Sinaloa state. He was marched by masked marines across the airport tarmac to a helicopter waiting to whisk him to jail.
Guzman was arrested by the Mexican marines at 6:40 a.m. in a high-rise condominium fronting the Pacific. He was caught with an unidentified woman, said one official not authorized to be quoted by name, who added that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Marshals Service were "heavily involved" in the capture.
Guzman faces multiple federal drug trafficking indictments in the U.S. and is on the DEA's most-wanted list. His drug empire stretches throughout North America and reaches as far away as Europe and Australia. His cartel has been heavily involved in the bloody drug war that has torn through parts of Mexico for the last several years.  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/02/22/drug-lord-el-chapo-guzman-captured-in-mexico-report-says/
You have to give credit when credit is due: The Obama administration did good by getting this thug and hopefully this will curb some deaths and curtail some drugs coning into the country.

This Is Stupid

From ESPN: The head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which monitors diversity in the NFL, expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field.
John Wooten, the head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, anticipates that the NFL's competition committee will enact the rule at the owners' meeting next month.
"We did talk about it, I'm sure that you saw near the end of the year that Fritz Pollard (Alliance) came out very strong with the message that the league needs to do something about the language on the field," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, who is on the league's competition committee. "So we did discuss over the last three days."
Newsome also said the committee talked about other slurs coming under any possible new rule, including homophobic slurs.
Wooten, who previously has urged all players to stop using the N-word, thinks the NFL will rule an automatic 15-yard penalty for first-time offenders and an ejection for second infractions.
"I will be totally shocked if the competition committee does not uphold us on what we're trying to do," Wooten said, according to CBSSports.com. "We want this word to be policed from the parking lot to the equipment room to the locker room.  http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10500657/nfl-expected-penalize-players-using-racial-slurs-games
The culture that uses the n-word the most are blacks.  You don't have a bunch of white NF players using the n-word.
And then, are you going to try and interpret the n-word- was it being used as a slur or calling a friend the n-word?
And finally, are you try to distinguish between nigga and nigger, which many blacks say they say.
This is just stupid and there are already rules against this- sportsmanship conduct and taunting.
Just plain stupid.

Obama Trying To Weaken Nuclear Weapons Program

From the Minot Daily News: In a news release issued Friday, Department of Defense spokeswoman Cynthia O. Smith confirmed that the department has recently requested the Air Force to begin an environmental assessment for the purpose of future force structure decisions.
The assessment will collect information from Minot Air Force Base, Francis E. Warren AFB in Wyoming, and Malmstrom AFB in Montana, on the effects of eliminating no more than 50 ICBM silos.
The information comes following a letter jointly penned by Senators Heidi Heitkamp, John Hoeven, Jon Tester and John Walsh, expressing opposition to such a move to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. The environmental assessment may be in violation of Section 8128 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act signed last month, which prohibits any defense funding from going toward such a study.  http://www.minotdailynews.com/page/content.detail/id/592487/Defense-Department-to-push-silo-closures.html?nav=5010
Clearly, this an effort of the Obama administration to further weaken this country's armed forces.
A purge of Country's Generals, cuts in armed personnel, cuts to the military pension and a general harassment of the military and those who serve is all part of the Obama plan to weaken the United States military.

I'd Put My Money On Richard Petty

From ESPN: The Richard Petty-Danica Patrick-Tony Stewart saga just won't stop.
Goaded by "Fox & Friends" hosts on Friday morning, Petty accepted Stewart's offer to set up a head-to-head race between Patrick and the NASCAR Hall of Famer.
"I'm 76 years old, OK?" Petty said, grinning, during a live spot from Daytona International Speedway. "It's been 25 years since I've been in a race car. But I'll take that challenge."
When pressed, he reaffirmed, "Oh, yeah. When is this going to happen?"
Stewart had previously told Performance Racing Network that Patrick should challenge NASCAR's all-time leader in wins (200) and co-holder of the championships record (seven) to a match race in equally prepared cars.
"I think that (a race) would pretty much settle it once and for all, maybe get him to shut up a little bit, too," Stewart said. "I will supply the cars. If he wants to race her, I'll make sure they have exactly the same setup in the car and give him the chance. He can drive one of my 14 cars. I don't care."
And if Patrick were to win the race, Stewart said, "If I were her, I'd take (the checkered flag) over there and cram it up his (butt)."  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/10497829/richard-petty-says-ready-race-danica-Patrick
Danica Patrick has not shown herself to be a good NASCAR driver.  In fact, she pretty much sucks.  If it weren't for Go Daddy and her sexy commercials, she wouldn't have a ride in NASCAR.
She isn't even the best female driver in NASCAR- I think Johanna Long of the Nationwide series is better and she has beaten Patrick several times with inferior equipment.
So, if there is a race between Petty and Patrick, I'll put my money on Petty.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

From the Las Vegas Sun: A judge set bail Friday at $500,000 for a North Las Vegas man facing felony driving under the influence charges in a crash that killed two people on a northwest Las Vegas expressway.
Gustavo Martinez-Garcia, 51, appeared for his initial court appearance in a wheelchair, and a public defender, Laurie Diefenbach, said he was still recovering from injuries following the Feb. 5 crash on Summerlin Parkway.....
The judge set bail at $250,000 on each charge of DUI causing death and scheduled a preliminary hearing March 11 to determine if Martinez-Garcia should stand trial in state court.
Martinez-Garcia, who appeared with a Spanish-language interpreter, wasn't asked to immediately enter a plea.
Martinez-Garcia is also referred to in court records as Garcia-Martinez. Prosecutor Steven Waters said he faces a minimum of two years in state prison on each charge if he is convicted.
Diefenbach acknowledged that Martinez-Garcia has prior convictions for misdemeanor driving under the influence in Las Vegas in April 1991 and March 1994.  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/feb/21/bail-500000-man-held-fatal-summerlin-parkway-crash/
This thug has been in the United States since at least 1991, or 23 years, if not longer and the thug killer still needs a court translator.
Clearly, this thug killer has not assimilated into the United States and has no desire to do so.
It is also clear, that if you work in an area with a lot of Hispanics, there are many, many of these Hispanics, whether they are here legally or not, choose not to assimilate to life in the United States.
Just another reason why the GOP is stupid for trying to pass a illegal immigration bill giving amnesty to illegals.

Moron

From The Stevens Point Journal: A local Army veteran is reconsidering taking a job at a major Stevens Point-area employer after the company’s employment recruiter told her soldiers don’t defend freedom and only serve for their paychecks.
Gabriella Barrett, 23, of Stevens Point was told in January that she had been accepted for a customer service job at the local company after the company’s recruiting contractor, Randstad, screened her. She intended to start the new job after a visit to Arizona, but while in Arizona, Barrett received an email from Sergio Ortiz, a recruiter at Randstad, that enraged her.
“I believe you choose to go into the Army for a paycheck not my freedom,” Ortiz’s email said. “So you will not be getting a thank you from me. I would have freedom regardless of your voluntary service.”
The email came at the end of a series of emails and phone calls about her filling out paperwork and getting fingerprinted and drug tested, something her employer had told her she could do when she returned to Wisconsin. When they started arguing about it, the recruiter told her he didn’t know why she bothered to put her military service on her resume, and that it was meaningless. He later sent the email about her military service.
Barrett said the comments are an insult to her and to military service members everywhere. Ortiz also said disparaging things about military service over the phone with her, Barrett said. http://www.stevenspointjournal.com/article/20140219/SPJ0101/302190411/Job-recruiter-slams-local-Army-veteran-tells-her-she-enlisted-paycheck-
What a moron, if he thinks the military of the whole protects his freedom and it is the military as a whole who got him his freedom.
Fortunately, this moron doesn't work for the recruiting company anymore.  I would suggest to this moron that he go back to the country of his ancestors and live in their freedom.

If You Don't Support The Death Penalty, Tell Me Why This Guy Shouldn't Get It

This is a very sick thug.
From the New York Daily News: A Missouri grade school coach has been charged in the murder and kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl whose suspected body was found in his basement with what police said was a gunshot wound to the head.
Craig Wood, a football coach and teacher's aide at Springfield's Pleasant View K-8 School, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the death of Hailey Owens, whose body police believe was found in a storage bin.
The little girl was last seen walking just a block from her home at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday when a terrified couple called 911 to report her seen being swept up by a man in a prowling pickup truck.
Michelle Edwards, who witnessed the attack with her husband, told police that the man driving the vehicle — with long grey hair — pulled over to her and asked for directions, calling, “Hey, come here a minute,” according to the felony probable cause statement.
Edwards said when the child ignored his attempt Wood got out of his car and threw her into his vehicle "like a rag doll."
"I can't believe he didn't see us sitting in our garage. It was right here. I could see him plain as day, I could see her plain as day," her husband, Carlos Edwards, told News-Leader.com....
A search warrant for his home obtained early the next morning led to officers being greeted by the smell of bleach radiating from his home’s basement.
There police say is where they found the child’s body, hidden inside one of two plastic storage bins, stacked on top of the other
Inside the bottom tote "was what appeared to be the body of a small child," concealed inside two trash bags, according to the police statement.
The child's body had ligature marks on her arms and what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the base of her skull, according to Tom Van De Berg, chief investigator for the Greene County Medical Examiner's Office.
A spent .22-caliber shell casing was also found in the basement.

This thug deserves the death penalty.  And while waiting for the death penalty, he should be forced to live with the general population of prisoners.  I'm pretty sure that the general population of prisoners would take a dim view of a child killer and take matters into their own hands.
Either way, this child killer thug won't long for this world.

Not A Smart Thing To Do

From the Chicago Sun Times: After they were refused service at the Trump Towers 16th floor bar over the weekend, two suburban men allegedly turned on a water valve in a stairway in the ritzy hotel, causing $700,000 in water damage.
Two elevators and some marble flooring were damaged as a result of Carl Koenemann and Benjamin Nitch’s actions, Assistant State’s Attorney Erin Antonietti said at their bond hearing Tuesday.
The men and another person had gone to the hotel’s bar where they were served one drink, Antonietti said.
Afterward, they were denied additional drinks because they appeared intoxicated, Antonietti said.
Koenemann and Nitch, both 25, were then seen going into the fire exit stairwell, the prosecutor said.
The men then allegedly turned on a water valve on the sixth floor that shoots 250 gallons of water out a minute....
He later admitted he yanked open the valve because he was angry for not being served at the bar, Antonietti said.
Koenemann, who Chicago Police say works in the corporate offices of Walgreens, and Nitch were released following a bond hearing Tuesday but must remain on electronic monitoring while they await trial.  http://www.suntimes.com/25677596-761/bar-patrons-refused-drinks-charged-in-700000-trump-tower-flood.html
I'm pretty sure that Donald Trump will do his best to make these guys lives miserable as hell.
As for the bartender who refused to serve these thugs, well, he made the right decision.
