They Were Just A Bit Off

Well, the Farmers Almanac is just a wee bit off this year so far.
From the Farmers: FEBRUARY 2014: temperature 29° (2° above avg.); precipitation 0.5" (1.5" below avg.); Feb 1-4: Snow showers, mild; Feb 5-8: Lake snows, cold; Feb 9-18: Sunny, then sprinkles and flurries, turning mild; Feb 19-25: Snow, then sunny, seasonable; Feb 26-28: Snow showers, cold.  http://www.almanac.com/weather/longrange/region/us/6
This is for the Great Lakes area.
For the Northeast, though, there pretty close: FEBRUARY 2014: temperature 32° (2° below avg.); precipitation 3" (avg.); Feb 1-3: Stormy, heavy rain and snow; Feb 4-10: Sunny, cold; Feb 11-15: Rain and snow, then flurries, cold; Feb 16-20: Heavy rain to snow, then sunny, cold; Feb 21-26: Rain to snow, then sunny, cold; Feb 27-28: Rain and snow. http://www.almanac.com/weather/longrange/region/us/2
And the South, they were pretty close:  FEBRUARY 2014: temperature 43° (4° below avg.); precipitation 4" (1" below avg.); Feb 1-6: Rain, then sunny, cold; Feb 7-11: Snow north, rain south, then sunny, cold; Feb 12-19: Rain, then sunny, cool; Feb 20-25: Rain, then sunny north; rainy periods south; cool; Feb 26-28: Snow north, rain south; cold.  http://www.almanac.com/weather/longrange/region/us/8
Not bad for publishing this way ahead of the actual dates and I am pretty sure more accurate than the real weather forecasters.
