Today, Saturday, August 29th, there were two funerals. One for Ted Kennedy and one for Frank Ferritta, who was the Station Casino founder in Las vegas.
First, Mr. Feritta. From the Las Vegas Review Journal: Frank Fertitta III called his father’s move to Las Vegas a gamble, coming here on a $100 loan from a friend and knowing only an uncle and cousin living here....The Texas native made Las Vegas his home in 1960 when he began his career as a bellman at the Tropicana. From bellman to dealer and on to general manager of The Fremont Hotel, Fertitta climbed the industry ladder before opening The Casino in 1976, realizing his idea to operate a casino catering to locals....He said his father valued his family, daily attendance of Mass and participation in charitable endeavors. He was president of the Bishop Gorman High School Development Corporation, served on the Foundation Board of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children and supported numerous other charities.
Station Casinos owns 18 casinos and employs 10's of thousands of people, in and out of casinos.
Contrast this with Ted Kennedy. He killed a young girl, ran away from her and let her die. His family riches paid off the victim's family and more than likely, the cops and DA.
He was a drunk and a womanizer. He had been accused of sexual harassment for his treatment of women in bars. He paid for an annulment from the Catholic Church. He was very pro-abortion, against the wishes of the Catholic Church. And yes, the Catholic Church is a sell out when it comes to the Kennedys.
Kennedy had money from the time he was born until the day he died. Feritta did not. Feritta employed thousands upon thousands of people. How many people did Kennedy employ? Senate staff and home servants and that's about it.
Feritta hired disabled people. Kennedy kept his mentally disabled sister in an institution in Jefferson, WI.
Kennedy was given his Senate seat. Feritta worked his way up from darn near the bottom to become a very successful business man.
So, on Saturday, there were two funerals. One for a low life, Ted Kennedy, who got national attention and a funeral bought and paid for, which the Catholic Church accepted (and I was raised Catholic) and another for Frank Feritta who was an outstanding man who helped tens of thousands and thousands of people. and did not need to buy off the Catholic Church. Ted Kennedy made the left twist and squirm to support him because of his horrific behavior and there is no evidence that Mr. Feritta compromised his principals.
RIP, Mr. Feritta, you earned the rest in heaven. For Ted Kennedy, may God have pity on your soul. Money and family is not going to help you anymore.

You Dan, you cheapened the admirable Mr. Feritta's life with your cheap shots at Ted Kennedy.
