Super Nanny Strikes Again In Carson City

Nevada has a serious budget problem, no one will dispute that. So what are the super nannies in Carson City doing in the Senate? Trying to pass a bill that will require store owners to post signs saying that cigarette smoking is bad for pregnant ladies is bad for their health.
From the Las Vegas Sun: On a 14-7 vote, the Senate has approved a bill to require businesses that sell cigarettes to post a sign about the dangers of smoking while pregnant. A business that fails to post the sign would be fined $100. State law already indicates a restaurant that sells liquor must post a sign about the dangers of drinking while pregnant. Assembly Bill 170 now returns to the Assembly for agreement on an amendment

Let's see. There are signs on the cigarette packages saying that smoking is bad for your health. There are commercials, news articles and doctor's warnings from the doctor's offices all stating that smoking is bad for a pregnant woman. Common sense says smoking while pregnant is stupid.

So, why would a sign in a store that sells cigarettes change a woman's mind?

What are these do gooders thinking? A woman comes in the store to buy cigarettes see the sign and then give herself a dope slap and say what was I thinking and then not buy the cigarettes?

Only an idiot or a politician would think that.
