Patrick Coolican is a columnist for the Las Vegas Sun- he's not very good or very bright but neither is the editor of the newspaper, Brian "Th Coward" Greenspun, so he is in good company.
Apparently, Coolican has something against people under the age of 25. He was commentating on the recent Electric Daisy Carnival, which was a smashing success while having a 3 day attendance of around 240,000. Arrests were minimal and so were the injuries and overheating. Sans music, it was much quieter and less violent at the carnival than being on the Strip at night.
So, why does Coolican think the young people were well behaved? Because most of them were on drugs.
From Coolican: As Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins put it: “The participants were the most polite young kids that I’ve ever been around.”
(The kids were all rolling on ecstasy, which I understand causes acute politeness.)

Coolican thinks he is a satirist, but he crossed the line when he accuses everyone of using drugs.
Using Coolican's logic, I could write this about the Las Vegas Sun's employees: All employees of the Las Vegas Sun are on crack because of their lack of writing skills and their liberal advocacy that is in their articles".
Of course, this isn't true. Only Brian "The Coward" Greenspun is the one who appears to be on drugs and behave like a playground bully by stealing 2 year old's candy from them. The rest are misguided at the best.
Actually, as someone who has worked with teenagers for the past 16+ years, I have found most to be polite and mostly trouble free. Of course, you do have gang bangers or spoiled little kids, but they are in the vast minority.
So, Coolican, I would suggest you actually step foot in a high school, college or places of work which employees tend to be young. Get out out of your cubicle in the Sun building and actually get out and see the world. Otherwise, you will continue to sound like an idiot.
