Pawn Stars Review: August 8, 2011

Better late than never. Two new episodes tonight and hey really, really tried to make Chumlee sound relevant and Chumlee sounded like a fool as almost segment had Chumlee in it.
The folks who own the shop made a bunch of money today as much of their inventory of gold coins and jewelry and gold went up $60 an ounce today.
In the first episode, a lady brought in some marble that was supposed to come from President Abraham Lincoln's tomb. She got the marble from her mom who got it from an estate sale. The lady had a fire department sweatshirt and I am curious as to which one (maybe the LAFD). Time for an expert, Mark. Mark, from the Clark County Museum and other Museums and said the marble was more than likely, real because the information written on the marble piece was unusual. The lady wanted $25,000. Rick offered $1000 and no sale.
The next guy brought in a Charlie Chaplin wind up toy. Charlie Chaplin came from the silent movies and was a short little guy with a Hitler like mustache. Time for an expert, Johnny. The toy was made out of tin. Johnny said it was worth about $1100. The guy wanted $1000 and Chumlee offered $250. The guy then wanted $500 and the sale price was $450. Next up, Corey and Rick went to a man's house to check out a 1970 Chevy Impala. It had a really nice sized clean engine that sounded quite strong. The guy wanted $21,000 and Corey offered $5000 and then $4000. No sale with no bartering.
The next guy brought in an antique sword that had several indentions in it. It looked very old and strange and they didn't know if it was a tool or weapon. Sean came in to check out the sword. He said it was from the Congo region of Africa and may have used for beheadings. He said it was worth up to $400. The guy wanted $400 and Rick offered $200 and was firm until he went to $225.
The next guy brought in a Weird Al Yankovich biography. Weird Al is a musician who parody's other people's songs. He also was in the first Police Squad movie. The guy wanted $700. Rick offered $400, which surprised the heck out of me. Rick then offered $425 and that was the sale price. If you go to Amazon.com, you can find 8 used books for $75 and a collectible for $995. http://www.amazon.com/Authorized-Al-Yankovic/dp/0809251337
In the second episode, the first woman brought in a Master Violet Ray #11, which was supposed to cure things, like baldness, acne and illnesses. The machine actually worked. She wanted $100 and Rick offered $75 and that was the sale price.
Rick went up to Utah, to the same store that had the Gatling Gun. He had a Hotchkiss Revolving cannon. The cannon was made in 1876. It was a 5 barrel revolving cannon and they had the ammo. The gun could fire a 37mm bullet/missile 1 and 1/4 miles. The guy wanted $75,000. They shot the cannon and they made a large, loud boom. The guy wanted $75,000 and Rick offered $40,000 and then $45,000. But no sale and Rick didn't buy anything else at the store.

The next guy brought in a Wurlitzer 1050 from the 1970's. The jukebox and it played 45's (rpm) records. The jukebox worked and the guy wanted $4500 for the juke box. Time for an expert, Peter, who we have not seen before. Peter said this was one of the last Wurlitzers made by the company. Peter thought it be worth around $4500. Phil, the owner, wanted $4000 and Corey offered $2000. The guy wanted $3200 and Corey offered $3000and that was the selling price.
The guys are the new pitch men for Stacker energy drinks as they had 2 commercials for the product.
The next guy brought in an antique electric waffle maker. The waffle maker was about 80 years old. The lady wanted $100 and Corey offered $40 and then $45 and the final selling price was $50.
The last guy brought in a hog oiler and yes, it does what it says. It was used to coat a pig's skin with oil. I've been on many pig farms and at several fairs and I never saw an oiled/greased pig. and I have never seen one, but ok, maybe it is true.
The guy wanted $300 and the Old Man offered $100 and that was the selling price.

  2. So you try to talk cap about Chumlee being a fool but as I read your little blog here you sound like a dumb ass. Here are some of your mistakes. Proofreading is important as to not sound like an idiot hick. "tonight and hey really, really tried to make Chumlee",  "fool as almost segment had Chumlee", "Museum and other Museums and said the" "several indentions in it" (you mean indentations), "also was in the first Police Squad movie"(you mean police academy),  "Peter thought it be worth around", "The jukebox and it played 45's" , "I've been on many pig farms and at several fairs and I never saw an oiled/greased pig. and I have never seen one, but ok"(first of all almost all state fairs have greased pig contest, second, read what you wrote. " you never saw then have never seen?????) Get it together before you talk about someone else.
