Rick gave an interview with Glenn Beck and reported in the Blaze:
Rick Harrison of the History Channel’s hit series “Pawn Stars” appeared on the Glenn Beck Program Friday for what Beck described as a “massive show and tell.”
Among the other items he revealed, Harrison held up a small book and declared: “This right here won the Revolutionary War.”
As Harrison told it, a man named Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben met Benjamin Franklin in Paris and “really pumped himself up.” Von Steuben promised that George Washington would greatly value his assistance, and upon receiving a letter of recommendation from Franklin, arrived in Valley Forge. He told Washington that he would make his troops have the greatest military precision in the world and – though Washington had heard the same before – Washington gave him 100 troops to work with. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/11/08/rick-harrison-of-pawn-stars-shares-his-finest-items-in-massive-show-and-tell-with-glenn-beck/
I saw a razor commercial and Rick was the spokesman for Razon 1. In the first episode, the guys are throwing Rick a bachelor party, that happened this past summer, and they are on a boat- it doesn't look like Lake Mead, so probably not in Las Vegas but it turns out they went to lake Las Vegas- a small man made lake by Henderson, NV.
They flashback to the planning of the party- Rick's 3rd wedding/bachelor party. Part of the party is going to be a biker bar in the middle of the desert.
They tried to kidnap Rick and they got on Horny Mike's green bus (From American Restoration) But the bus died.
They ended up at the Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, NV. http://www.pioneersaloon.info/
The party was kind of boring and Chumlee provided the entertainment- a female magician who the guys first thought was a stripper. Ariann Black was the magician: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/07/ariann-black-secrets-review.html
They went on a party boat on Lake Las Vegas and it was time to get drunk.
The first customer brought in a book, as salesman book of "The adventures of Tom Sawyer". http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/tomsawyer/
Well, it wasn't the actual book but it contained passages from the book.
Mark Twain sold the book by subscription- that's why the book existed- it was used to sell to potential customers.
The guy wanted $10,000 and Rebecca thought it was worth about $9-10,000 retain and Rick offered $5000. The guy went from $10,000 down to $6,000. Rick offered $5500 and Rick won- sale price$5500.
The next guy brought in a tiny scale from the 1800's, with some gold flakes. Rick said the scale was too beat up but offered $400 for the gold. The guy wanted $1500 and there was no sale.
The shop has a new intern, Lilly and the Old Man was trying to teach her about coins.
The next guy brought in some concrete that were found during excavating old casinos that were torn down. The guy wanted $2000 for all the concrete and the Old Man said no deal.
In the second episode, it turns out the hot dog stand in the store's parking lot is owned by Rick's brother in law (old wife or new?). Anyways, someone had to run the stand for a day- Chumlee. Chumlee had to learn the menu and ate some of the profit. He named it the Chum Dogz. Chumlee made a profit of over $1500 a day and so Rick had to work for Chumlee for the day.
The first guy brought in 1970 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. The car was bouht by ABC and given to Johnny Cash for his successful TV show. http://www.johnnycash.com/
The car was black because Johnny Cash was the Man in Black.
Cash's drummer, W.S. Holland, was the person who vouched that the car belonged to Cash. http://wsflukeholland.com/
The guy wanted $350,000. Time for an expert, Steven Ray Anastos of Red Hills Rods and Choppers. They got to drive the car, with Rick was the driver. The car had 31,000 miles on it. Steve said the car was worth about $50,000. The guy went down to $200,000 and there was no sale.
The next guy brought in a old military radio from the U.S.S. Eldridge, from the Philadelphia Experiment. The guy wanted $200 and Corey offered $15 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in a Byzantine Empire coin. http://www.ancient.eu.com/Byzantine_Empire/
The guy wanted $1900 and Rick offered $800 and then $1100 and that was the sale price. Dave came in to grade the coin and said the coin came from Constantine the 9th. he said it was real and worth about $700-1000.
Thank you for stopping by and hopefully there will be 2 new episodes next week, though there was no advertisement saying so.
one would think radio equipment from the Eldridge to do with the Philadelphia Experiment which professor Einstein was involved what date it would go for a little more than $15 didn't sell and if not how much would they want a Philadelphia citizen
ReplyDeleteOne would think that but it's significance is not tha same to everyone..
