Supposed Patient Dumping Now Political

Felony Thief, Dina Titus
The supposed patient dumping case of Nevada's mentally has turned political.
From the LVRJ: The pressure on Nevada for alleged cross-border dumping of mental patients grew Tuesday with a call from a group of California lawmakers for a broader federal investigation.
Twenty-one members of the California congressional delegation, all Democrats, signed the letter, which asks both the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to investigate whether any federal laws were violated by Nevada, the Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services or the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas.
“If this practice of shipping patients with a history of mental illness to other states, known colloquially as “Greyhound Therapy,” is occurring, it is not only unethical and disgraceful, but may also be an illegal attempt by Nevada to evict members of the state’s most vulnerable population to benefit its bottom line,” reads the letter, which is led by California Rep. Ami Bera, D-Calif.
The letter also asks that federal agencies report back with full findings or an update within 30 days.
U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., said her California colleagues last week in Washington, D.C., let her know the letter was coming. The situation “certainly does not help Nevada’s reputation,” she said Tuesday.
Titus represents Nevada’s 1st Congressional District, where Rawson-Neal hospital is located. Last week she wrote a letter asking for more information about the brewing scandal to Mike Willden, director of the Nevada Department of Health and Humans Services.
“You just can’t treat people like that,” she said. “They are the most vulnerable.”
In the letter, Titus asks the state Department of Health and Human Services to “keep her fully informed about the steps that Rawson-Neal is taking to address these serious concerns.”  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/government/california-lawmakers-call-broader-patient-dumping-investigation
1 case of patient dumping in 5 years is not a crisis and the state of Nevada handled the problem by changing policy and firing employees who screwed up.
All this is a bunch of democrats trying to impeach the creditability of Brian Sandoval, who may figure into the 2016 presidential campaign.
And to have the 2nd most unethical congresscritter in Nevada, the Thief, Dina Titus, who has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from taxpayers, to get involved, just shows she is craving media attention again.
This is all about politics now, not about the patients.

Stupid Idea

From Channel 13 Las Vegas: A new plan to help Nevada homeowners fight foreclosure is being proposed in North Las Vegas.
Instead of taking property away from people, it takes mortgages away from lenders instead.
The "Mortgage Resolution Partners" say they have the answer to North Las Vegas' mortgage mess. Most  homeowners in the city owe more than their homes are worth. If the city council gives the OK, the Mortgage Resolution Partners plan to use eminent domain to seize underwater mortgages from current lenders, and sell them to new investors based on a home's fair market value. Homeowners would keep their titles and send smaller checks to someone else, or be brought out by new investors and allowed to rent.
The partners say they'll pay all fees and assume all risks, but they also admit they're still working out kinks in their proposal.  http://www.ktnv.com/news/local/205512551.html
This is not the purpose of eminent domain by the government and if it does happen, then the property needs to taken away from the home owner as well.
But in the end, this is just a stupid idea that more than likely, is not legal.

Very Interesting

From the San Fran Chronicle: In 1968, U.S. Army Sgt. John Hartley Robertson fell into the jungle, his helicopter shot down over Laos in a top-secret mission during the Vietnam War. If Hollywood had its way with the script, the Green Beret would have been welcomed home a hero after a daring rescue. In reality, history presumed him slain, relegating his name to war memorials and funeral pamphlets.
A new film by Emmy-winning documentarian Michael Jorgensen tells the story of this Alabama-born soldier lost at war. “Unclaimed” purports to have found Robertson in a remote jungle, his frame bent with age, his memory of his wife and children’s names erased by the trauma of war. He no longer speaks English.
The documentary follows Vietnam veteran Tom Faunce, who, while on a humanitarian trip to Southeast Asia in 2008, heard tales of an army brother forgotten by his own government and left to start a new life in Vietnam. At first, the filmmaker set out to debunk these claims and expose the man as a poser. But the evidence seemed to suggest otherwise....
Through a translator, the 76-year-old man tells his account: How the North Vietnamese captured him after his helicopter crash, how they trapped him in a bamboo cage and tortured him for years. Eventually, his captors released him, physically and mentally broken. A widowed woman found him lost in the jungle, nursed him back to health and eventually married him. Taking on his wife’s late husband’s identifying information, he registered as a French-Vietnamese citizen named Dan Tan Ngoc.  http://blog.sfgate.com/hottopics/2013/04/30/vietnam-veteran-presumed-dead-reportedly-found-in-remote-jungle-44-years-later/
It will be interesting to see if Sgt. Hartley will want to come back to the United States.

Another Reason Why I Don't Fly

This is a video of a Boeing 747 that crashed in Afghanistan earlier this year.  RIP to the crew.

This Is Good News

Oil Activity in North Dakota
From the Minot Daily News:
The U.S. Geological Survey announced Tuesday that the Bakken and Three Forks Formations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana have about 7.4 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil.
The upper end of the estimate is 11.4 billion barrels, said Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., who had pressed for the new assessment.
The assessment of both formations, the largest unconventional oil resource the agency has ever assessed, is more than twice the previous estimate of 3.65 billion barrels for just the Bakken Formation which as identified in a 2008 assessment.
Technically recoverable oil resources are those producible using currently available technology and industry practices.
The U.S. Geological Survey's new report found that the Bakken Formation has an estimated 3.65 billion barrels of oil and the Three Forks Formation about 3.73 billion barrels for a total of 7.38 billion barrels.
In addition to oil, the two formations are believed to contain 6.7 trillion cubic feet of undiscovered, technically recoverable natural gas and 0.53 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable natural gas liquids.  http://www.minotdailynews.com/page/content.detail/id/575125/N-D--oil-formations-potential-much-higher.html?nav=5010
And the good news is most, if not all of the oil and gas are on private land, not U.S. government land, where the Obama administration can screw it up.

They Got Lucky This Time

Makes me wonder what the out cry would be if someone died.
From the LVRJ: Pungent smoke filled Draven Avila’s lungs, waking him before dawn Tuesday.
What he saw next, flames consuming the top of his double-wide trailer home, sparked the 16-year-old into action.
The teen ran out the front door, hopped a porch and ran to a back window. He used his right arm to shatter the glass.
As a bleeding Draven picked glass shards from the window frame, his 17-year-old brother, Diego Avila, helped their 14-year-old autistic brother, Geovanny, out of bed. Draven and Diego then carried their youngest sibling out of the burning double-wide — at 3325 N. Nellis Blvd., near Cheyenne Avenue — through the broken window.
“I did what I had to do,” Draven said Tuesday afternoon at the Carefree Manufactured Home Community. He was at a home a few streets over from where his own place was now just rubble and ash.
The Clark County Fire Department said the blaze occurred about 4 a.m. The cause of the fire, which resulted in about $30,000 in damages, was still under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters from Clark County, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, 30 personnel in all, responded to the fire and were able to keep flames from spreading to other homes.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/crime-courts/quick-acting-brothers-save-autistic-sibling-burning-trailer
The closest Clark County fire station is just past Lamb and Alexander and the 2nd in company is on Judson, east of Christy LN.  These stations are at least 5 or minutes or more away from the fire.
The closest North Las Vegas station is about a mile west of the I-15, about 10 minutes away.
But for some reason, the fire department across the street from the fire was not used.  And that is the Nellis AFB Fire Department.  At 4 AM, it's not like there were a bunch of airplanes flying around and they also 2-3 fire stations, so they could have repositioned their fire trucks in case something did happen on the base.
Not only do they have fire trucks to put out airplane fires, they also have fire trucks to put out structure fires, like house fires.
More info on the Nellis AFB fire department: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nellis-Firefighters/234347521484
This family got lucky, maybe the next family won't be as lucky.

Idiots In Colorado

From the Denver Post:  Marking the end of a decade-long effort to provide in-state tuition rates to Colorado college students in the U.S. illegally, Gov. John Hickenlooper signed Senate Bill 33, also known as the ASSET bill, into law on Monday.
"Now you have to do the work," Hickenlooper told the many students among the hundreds of people attending the event at Metropolitan State University of Denver's Student Success Center.
Also in attendance were numerous members, past and present, of the state legislature, including the bill's co-sponsors, Sens. Michael Johnston D-Denver, and Angela Giron, D-Pueblo, and Reps. Crisanta Duran and Angela Williams, both Denver Democrats. There were also representatives from schools throughout the state, including Denver Public Schools superintendent Tom Boasberg.

Illegal immigrants who break the law should not receive any kind of government benefit, including cheaper tuition. Colorado is a disgrace, including it's governor and legislators, who, by the way are democrats.
May they rest in hell.
And in Nevada, if we are ever stupid enough to elect a democrat for governor, this is one of the first things democrats will try and get through.

Sad

From Fox News: An Indian stuntman attempting to break a world record by crossing a river on a zip-line -- while hanging by his ponytail -- died while performing the feat Sunday.
Police officer Sailendra Nath Roy, 49, apparently had a heart attack as a result of zip-lining on a wire suspended nearly 600 feet in the air across the River Teesta in West Bengal, India, according to a Sky News report.
Roy holds the Guinness World Record for covering the longest distance on a zip-line while hanging by his hair.
Roy’s shoulder-length hair was attached to a pulley on a wire, and he had completed about half the distance when he suddenly stopped. As a crowd looked on in horror, Roy became entangled and could no longer propel himself forward.
"Roy tried frantically to get hold of a second rope to reach the finishing point," senior police officer K Jayaraman told Sky.

Honor Flight Comes To Las Vegas

From the Las Vegas Sun: On Friday, a troop of 35 World War II veterans will walk and wheel their way into McCarran International Airport for a final mission.
They are men and women who have been shot down in combat, earned Purple Hearts and courageously served their country. At 0730 hours, they will board a plane for Washington, D.C., and won’t have a clue what surprises organizer Jon Yuspa has waiting for them on the first-ever Las Vegas Honor Flight.
The veterans have never received their proper homecoming, nor asked for one, but by the time they return from their tour of the World War II memorial, Yuspa hopes to change that.
“One of the couple things you hear from them is they understand their lot in life. … They understand they’re in their final chapters,” Yuspa said. “But when they come back, they’ll tell you that you helped to rewrite their final chapter.”
Yuspa started the first Honor Flight branch in Nevada two years ago when he moved to Reno. He had previously volunteered to assist on the trips when he lived on the East Coast and was surprised a branch didn’t exist in Nevada.
The national nonprofit has been flying America’s veterans to see their war memorial since 2005. Most branches are stationed in the Midwest or East, where the trip can be completed in one day.
Yuspa realized a Nevada branch would mean more than triple the cost because it was a three-day trip, but he had seen the impact these trips had on other veterans and knew Nevadan veterans deserved the same.
Through donations from the Nevada Military Support Alliance, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the community, he was able to make it a reality.

This is very cool and thank goodness for John Yupsa.
As an aside, this blog kind of helped start the Honor Flight in Nevada: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/11/why-doesnt-nevada-have-honor-flights.html
After the blog post ran, John contacted me and since he had more time and dedication, he helped make this thing a reality.  Nice job, John.

So What? NBA Player Comes Out

It's not like he is the first athlete to come out of the closet.
From Sports Illustrated: I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay.
I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, "I'm different." If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand.
My journey of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement began in my hometown of Los Angeles and has taken me through two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.

Since he is an aging free agent with poor statistics, I wonder if he will find a place to play next year and if he doesn't, will he blame his gayness?
And the action picture of Collins SI chose to show:
Jason Collins
 Umm, ok.

Now, These Workers Need A Union

From the Prague Post: Greece farm shooting injures 30Around 30 migrant farm workers were injured during a shooting at a farm in southern Greece after requesting unpaid salaries, the BBC reported. At least one farm supervisor opened fire when 200 workers demanded wages at the strawberry farm Nea Manolada, a Peloponnesian village. The owner of the farm - which is situated 160 miles west of Athens and mainly employs Bangladeshi migrants - and one foreman have been arrested. A social media campaign has been launched against the fruit from Nea Manolada, calling it "blood strawberries." The village has also gained notoriety in the past for alleged exploitation of migrant workers.  http://www.praguepost.com/news/european-briefs/16056-greece-farm-shooting-injures-30.html#brief16056
Maybe the union thugs in the United States can actually do some good and get these workers organized and protected.

Pawn Stars Review: April 29, 2013- New Theme Song

Another Monday and another no show for Pawn stars.  Tonight, they gave up their night for American Pickers, at least in the U.S.
The news of the week is that the show is going to get a new theme song, by Lynard Skynard and probably a new opening shot.
Here is the filming of the song:

OMG: Rocky The Musical

From Philly.com: It's been a knockout in Germany. Now Sylvester Stallone hopes a musical based on his beloved boxing film "Rocky" will also be a hit on Broadway.
Producers said Sunday they plan to get "Rocky" up and punching at the Winter Garden by February following a successful debut in Hamburg last fall.
Based on the Oscar-winning 1976 film, the musical features a score by "Ragtime" veterans Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and a story by Thomas Meehan, who wrote "The Producers" and "Hairspray."
Originally written in English but translated into German for its world premiere and billed as "Rocky: Das Musical," the show is produced by Stallone and Stage Entertainment USA.
"The reason I think it has worked so well there and why I think it'll work on Broadway is that, yes, it's a story about boxing, but the real story is actually an intimate, powerful and gritty and moving love story between two people who are both lonely and in a difficult place in their worlds," said Bill Taylor, managing director of Stage Entertainment USA. "They rescue each other. It's very uplifting."
http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/20130428_ap_musicalofrockyheadingtobroadway.html
I guess if Mike Tyson can be successful on Broadway, then Rocky has a chance.
It does show the lack of class in NYC, though.

Obama Names Another Idiot To Cabinet

From the New York Daily News:
President Barack Obama on Monday will nominate Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Anthony Foxx as his new transportation secretary, a White House official said Sunday.
If confirmed by the Senate, Foxx would replace outgoing Secretary Ray LaHood.
Foxx is Obama’s first black nominee among the new Cabinet members appointed for the second term. The president faced criticism early in his second term for a lack of diversity among his nominees.
The official insisted on anonymity to avoid public discussion of the pick before the official announcement.
The official noted that Foxx has led efforts to improve his city’s transit infrastructure to expand economic opportunity for businesses and workers. During Foxx’s term as mayor, Charlotte has broken ground on several important transportation projects, including the Charlotte Streetcar Project to bring modern electric tram service to the city as well as a third parallel runway at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. The city has also moved to extend the LYNX light rail system to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the official said.

Apparently King Obama wasn't at the DNC convention:
Charlotte’s University City area, guests were crying, cursing and running down the hall with pants in hand on Friday, trying desperately to get to the airport after the Democratic National Convention.
Shuttles were extremely late, on a day when everyone knew they had to allow extra time at the airport, and just getting through to a cab company took half an hour, said Karina Furman, who works the front desk. Finally, she and other employees started using their own vehicles to take frantic guests to the airport.
“No pay, no nothing – we were just doing it out of being kind to people,” Furman said. “It was really hectic.”
At Spring Hill Suites in Concord, airport transportation went well, but guests complained that it took them two to four hours to get back from convention activities in uptown Charlotte on shuttle buses, said assistant general manager Susan Grammas.
“The whole transportation thing, Charlotte needs to be looking at that if they ever have an event this big again,” Grammas said. “They really have to work on that if they want to be a big city.”
Many would agree: In a convention that mostly sailed smoothly, ground transportation was a bumpy road.  http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/09/08/3515541/dnc-transportation-proved-a-headache.htmlYep, another unqualified Obama appointment.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/anthony-foxx-obama-pick-transportation-secretary-article-1.1329763
Obama is the gay president, the welfare queen president and now, maybe the mentally retarded president.

Another Stupid Las Vegas Sun Editorial

Another Sunday, another stupid Las Vegas Sun editorial: A damning series of stories published this year in the Sacramento Bee accuses Nevada of systematically dumping mental health patients on other states, particularly California. According to the Bee’s analysis, the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas over the past five years discharged more than 1,500 patients to the Greyhound bus station with one-way tickets out of state.
The details of some of the cases are awful. Consider what happened to James Flavy Coy Brown, who had spent three days in the Las Vegas hospital being treated for schizophrenia and other mood disorders. He says he was told there was no place for him in Nevada and sent by taxi to the bus station.
Brown had a ticket to Sacramento, a few days’ worth of medication, some crackers, bottles of Ensure and not much else. He didn’t have identification, had never been to Sacramento and didn’t have any friends or family there. He had no follow-up treatment plan besides a verbal instruction to call 911 when he arrived.
Read more: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2013/apr/28/outrageous-case/#ixzz2RpsN7Juk
First, I am still skeptical about Brown case.  If you are going to California, why Sacramento?  It's just a two bit town compared to other California cities.
And the Sun can only cite only 1 case of supposed patient dumping out of thousands of patients served.
And for California to complain, they have had their own cases of patient dumping, especially the Los Angeles area, where patients were seen in the emergency room and instead of being treated, they were dumped in the streets.
Sorry, but we get a lot of people from California who are mentally ill, especially the liberals and our state is slowly becoming Californiaized.
If we threw 1 to California, so what?  We have got so many Californians back in return, this makes us about even... or we ought to ship more Californians home, where they belong.

First Welfare Queen President

From Breitbart: A government watchdog group has discovered that the United States government is advising Spanish-speaking residents that they need not declare their immigration status to qualify for food stamps.
Judicial Watch obtained the Spanish-language flyers through a Freedom of Information Act request and announced on Thursday that the "promotion of the food stamp program, now known as 'SNAP' (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), includes a Spanish-language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy by the USDA
A statement on the flyer—emphasized in bold and underlined—reads, “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said of this discovery, the "USDA is actively working with the Mexican government to promote food stamps for illegal aliens." This implication, he asserted, "should have a direct impact on the fate of the immigration bill now being debated in Congress."
“These disclosures further confirm the fact that the Obama administration cannot be trusted to protect our borders or enforce our immigration laws," Fitton said. "And the coordination with a foreign government to attack the policies of an American state is contemptible.”
Sen. John Thune (R-SD) and Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) are working on a bill that would cut such programs.  http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/26/USDA-to-Illegal-Immigrants-You-Can-Qualify-for-Food-Stamps
Apparently, not only is Obama the first gay president, he is the first welfare queen president.

Obama Shows Once Again He Hates The Military

From The Las Vegas Sun:
Dozens of air shows that generate millions of dollars for local communities are being cancelled this year after the military grounded its jet teams because of the automatic federal budget cuts.
The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force's Thunderbirds have cancelled their seasons, along with the U.S. Army Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights. The armed services also have grounded smaller demonstration teams and won't provide ground displays for most shows.
John Cudahy is president of the International Council of Air Shows. He says about 200 of the nation's 300 air shows have been affected by the federal budget cuts and 60 have already been cancelled. He says more cancellations are expected, and some shows may never come back.
Read more: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2013/apr/28/us-budget-battle-air-shows/#ixzz2RnCs1rV2
The Blue Angels, Thunderbirds and the Golden Knights not only promote goodwill by the military they also help recruit new military personnel.  Also, these air shows, like the one in Las Vegas that was cancelled, raise millions of dollars for charity.
No wonder Obama had these shows cancelled.

Law Breaking Is Now A Civil Right

This is scary, coming from the top law enforcement officer in the country.
From Fox News:
During a April 24th speech to the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Attorney General Eric Holder said that creating a "pathway to earned citizenship" was a "civil right.”
"Creating a pathway to earned citizenship for the 11 million unauthorized immigrants in this country is essential. The way we treat our friends and neighbors who are undocumented – by creating a mechanism for them to earn citizenship and move out of the shadows – transcends the issue of immigration status. This is a matter of civil and human rights. It is about who we are as a nation. And it goes to the core of our treasured American principle of equal opportunity."  http://nation.foxnews.com/amnesty/2013/04/26/holder-calls-amnesty-civil-right
Next time I get caught speeding, I'll just claim it's my civil right to do so.
Next time a bank robber strikes, they'll use the Eric Holder defense and say it was their civil right to do so.
Holder has always been clueless and this shows once again that he is the worst attorney general in the history of the U.S..

Ace Hardware Goes Politically Correct

Remember when Ace Hardware commercials went "Ace is the place for the helpful hardware man"?
Well, not anymore as Ace has gone politically correct:

Now, instead of hardware man, now they say hardware folk.
I'd say I won't be going to an ACE store anytime soon, but I don't think they exist in Las Vegas.

Seriously?

Seriously?  A newspaper reporter is the worst job in the United States?  That's according to Career cast.
http://www.sfgate.com/national/slideshow/Worst-job-in-America-for-2013-is-61032.php#Worst-job-in-America-for-2013-is-61032/photo-4523630.php
Anybody that employs the likes of a drug addled Matt Ward of the PVT cannot be the worst job in the country.
I can think of many jobs in the U.S. that are worse jobs.
Taxi drivers and casino custodians in Las Vegas: think of off the vomit you have to clean up.
Road kill picker uppers
Slaughter house animal killers.
Nursing Assistants who have clean up all the poop of patients.
Grocery/department store stocker
Small business owner
Crime scene cleaners (blood, guts, brain tissue)
Liberal blogger/talk show host
But newspaper reporters?  Nah.

32 Years In A Monsetery Can Do That To You

From the Chicago Tribune:
A judge set bail today at $50,000 for a long-time Benedictine monk accused of trying to abduct a 14-year-old girl in far north suburban Antioch this week.
Thomas M. Chmura, 57, of the 12600 block of 224th Avenue in Benet Lake, Wis., appeared in Lake County court today in Waukegan where a judge set the $50,000 bail and ordered him to have no contact with anyone under the age of 17, according to a statement from Antioch police.
Chmura was charged with one count of felony attempted child abduction and one count of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, according to the statement.
Chmura said he is a monk and has been living at the Benedictine Monks, St. Benedict's Abbey, in Benet Lake for the past 32 years, the statement said.

Barbara Girton of St. Benedict’s Abbey said this afternoon she was unaware that Chmura had been arrested and they’d been searching “all over’’ for him.
Girton said they knew their car was missing and they were going to be contacting the Abbot, who oversees the abbey, to let him know about the incident.
When asked about Chmura, Girton said: “He’s a very nice person; this is completely out of context. This doesn’t sound like him.’’  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-benedictine-monk-accused-of-attempted-child-abduction-20130427,0,6336364.story
I kind of feel sorry for the guy because he has led a very sheltered life and when this goes national, he probably won't be able to handle it.
But of course, he should not have done what he did.

Talk About Medicare Fraud

From WCSC: A Live 5 News investigation has uncovered alleged ambulance abuse in Dorchester County.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Audrey Ferguson of the Dorchester community has called EMS at least 100 times in the last seven years.
Investigators say Ferguson was faking illness, just to get a free ride to downtown Charleston.
Officials say just about every time she asked to be taken to a hospital.
"She'll have a vague medical complaint, for instance abdominal pain," said Dorchester County EMS Director Doug Warren. "She has medical complaints that are legitimate, and so until she's been evaluated and determined not to be sick we have to assume she is."
Soon medics saw a disturbing pattern and got suspicious.
Ferguson apparently never even went into the hospital to get treated.
Instead she told hospital officials she was okay and left.
"We transport her to one of the area hospitals and then oftentimes before we can get our paperwork completed she's signed out from the hospital and gone on to do other things," said Warren.
Warren called the sheriff's office and asked for an investigation....
On Apr. 2, investigators said Ferguson's free rides came to an end. A Dorchester County deputy was waiting at Trident Medical Center for an ambulance carrying Ferguson.
According to an incident report, he heard her call her son, saying she needed a ride. He also heard her tell a nurse that she wasn't ill, that she was actually feeling fine and that she was leaving.
Ferguson did leave...in handcuffs.  She was taken to the Dorchester County jail.
On the way to jail, Ferguson told a deputy why she called for an ambulance so many times.
According to the incident report, Ferguson said she didn't have a car and this was the only way she had to get around and Medicaid paid for it anyway. It was part of her benefits.
And all of those ambulance trips taken by Ferguson?
Each one costs $425, plus mileage.
Officials say what Medicaid doesn't pay, taxpayers will have foot the rest of the bill, more than $400,000.   http://www.live5news.com/story/22075845/live-5-news-investigates-woman-accused-of-using-ambulance-for-taxi-service
They ought to drop this woman off of Medicare and public assistance for life.  Make her dependent on her family, friends and charities.

This Is Going To Cost Nevada Thousands

From the Reno Gazette Journal:
Former Nevada Capitol Police Chief Tom Navin is suing the Nevada Department of Public Safety, saying he was wrongfully terminated for failing a physical.
Navin, in his district court suit filed this week, said he was legally exempt from the push-up portion of the test because he was recovering from shoulder surgery.
Navin, who’s seeking $15,000 plus damages, originally injured the shoulder during the push-up test last year. He completed jumping, running and sit-up tests.
He was fired March 15 after state officials said he was unable to complete his physical to maintain his peace officer certification. Officers must pass the physical within a year of being hired.  http://www.rgj.com/viewart/20130427/NEWS11/304270057/Nevada-capitol-police-chief-sues-over-firing
There is no requirement for no push ups to be police officer: http://leg.state.nv.us/NAC/NAC-289.html#NAC289Sec025
Whoever fired the police chief just cost the state of Nevada thousands of dollars.
Sandoval, was that you or was it a Democrat?

Why?

Why would the Obama administration even consider allowing the Boston bombing suspect dad and father to come to the United States?
From Fox News: Earlier this week, she (Mom)said she has been assured by lawyers that she would not be arrested if she traveled to the U.S., but she said she was still deciding whether to go. The suspects' father, Anzor Tsarnaev, said that he would leave Russia soon for the United States to visit one son and lay the other to rest.
A team of investigators from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow questioned both parents in Russia this week.
Late this week, Dzhohkar Tsarnaev was taken from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was recovering from a throat wound and other injuries suffered during an attempt to elude police, and was transferred to the Federal Medical Center Devens, about 40 miles from Boston, the U.S. Marshals Service said. The facility, at a former Army base, treats federal prisoners.
"It's where he should be; he doesn't need to be here anymore," said Beth Israel patient Linda Zamansky, who thought his absence could reduce stress on bombing victims who have been recovering at the hospital under tight security.

There is absolutely no reason for the bomber's family to come to United States.  If the family wants to bury their kid, send the body back at the family's expense.  And the surviving bomber shouldn't be allowed visits from mom and pop.
But apparently, the Obama administration has not said no, at least not yet.  Let's hope they use some common sense and say no, but Obama has not shown much common sense when it comes to radical Muslims.

RIP George Jones

From Fox News: George Jones, the peerless, hard-living country singer who recorded dozens of hits about good times and regrets and peaked with the heartbreaking classic "He Stopped Loving Her Today," has died. He was 81.
Jones died Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after being hospitalized with fever and irregular blood pressure, according to his publicist Kirt Webster.
With one of the most golden voices of any genre, a clenched, precise, profoundly expressive baritone, Jones had No. 1 songs in five separate decades, 1950s to 1990s. He was idolized not just by fellow country artists, but by Frank Sinatra, Pete Townshend, Elvis Costello, James Taylor and countless others. "If we all could sound like we wanted to, we'd all sound like George Jones," Waylon Jennings once sang.
In a career that lasted more than 50 years, "Possum" evolved from young honky-tonker to elder statesman as he recorded more than 150 albums and became the champion and symbol of traditional country music, a well-lined link to his hero, Hank Williams. Jones survived long battles with alcoholism and drug addiction, brawls, accidents and close encounters with death, including bypass surgery and a tour bus crash that he only avoided by deciding at the last moment to take a plane.

9th Circuit Proves Once Again They Are Brain Dead

The Hualapai Court
From the Las Vegas Sun: A federal appeals court says a Nevada developer must exhaust his legal battle over the Grand Canyon Skywalk contract dispute in tribal court before going to the federal level.
A lawyer for Las Vegas businessman David Jin told the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco last October that the Hualapai (WAHL'-uh-peye) tribal court system lacks authority to hear the case.
Tribal attorneys say the operation of the popular glass bridge in northern Arizona is governed by Hualapai law.
Jin invested $30 million to build the bridge that opened in 2007. He and the tribe have disagreed on management fees and an incomplete visitors' center.
The tribal corporation that manages Skywalk also is appealing a $28 million judgment for Jin upheld last month by an Arizona federal judge.

The Hualapai Tribe in Arizona are nothing more than a band of thieves and the 9th Circuit now expects the developer to spend thousands of dollars in legal fees while he fights the tribe ina kangaroo court.

Sleazy Harry At It Again

Apparently, judgeships are now for sale in Nevada, at least if you donate to Senile, Liar, Coward Harry Reid's PAC.
From the LVRJ: As U.S. Sen. Harry Reid was considering Las Vegas attorney Jennifer Dorsey for a federal judgeship in May, two senior partners at her law firm made $150,000 in contributions to a political action committee associated with the Nevada senator, records show.
While apparently legal, the donations were called “problematic” by a legal expert, who said they could be perceived as attempting to buy a judicial appointment as Dorsey’s confirmation is pending before the Senate.
Dorsey also made a personal contribution of $2,500 to Reid’s campaign committee in March 2012, shortly after they initially spoke about her interest in becoming a federal judge, according to Senate records. Reid returned that contribution a month later, as he proceeded to check out her credentials and experience as a litigator.
In June, Reid agreed to recommend Dorsey to the White House for a post on the U.S. District Court, and she was nominated by President Barack Obama in September.
Reid in a statement said Dorsey’s “academic background and courtroom experience speak for themselves. She has great respect from her peers and colleagues in Nevada and I am confident she will serve the bench with distinction.”
As Dorsey was being vetted by Reid, senior partners at her firm, Kemp, Jones & Coulthard, made contributions to Senate Majority PAC, a super-PAC created by former Reid strategists to elect Democrats to the U.S. Senate. Reid, the Senate majority leader, and other leading Democrats traveled extensively last year to raise money for the PAC, which is co-chaired by a former Reid chief of staff.
Founding partner Will Kemp made a $100,000 contribution on May 1, 2012, according to campaign finance records. Founding partner J. Randall Jones made a $50,000 contribution on May 14, 2012.

This nomination needs to be killed.
Senile/Coward/Liar/Pathetic Reid is a sleaze ball and needs to be indicted once a Republican president gets into office.
In the meantime, Reid embarrasses the hell out of Nevada.
Lord, where is a lightening strike when you need it?

Take That, NASCAR

Matt Kenseth
Just a couple days removed from receiving a huge penalty for an illegal part in Kansas, Matt Kenseth
on the pole at Richmond.
From ESPN: Matt Kenseth didn't wait long to get his pole award back.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver stripped of his pole award from last week at Kansas in a raft of penalties levied by NASCAR this week, set a track record with a lap at 130.334 mph Friday at Richmond International Raceway.
Kenseth edged JGR teammate Brian Vickers by 0.005 seconds to claim only the 10th top starting position of his career in 481 starts. Vickers, who held the previous qualifying record at 129.983, is filling in for injured JGR driver Denny Hamlin.
In what has been a hard week for the JGR stable because of the hammer-like quality of the penalties imposed by NASCAR, the results were welcome news. Kyle Busch, the third driver for the team, qualified eighth.
"When you only win nine poles in 14 years, you're pretty darned fired up for all of them," Kenseth said. "For sure, that was one of our goals for this weekend was to come here, sit on the pole and kind of quiet down at least part of the noise."
The run again qualified Kenseth for next year's Sprint Unlimited exhibition race for pole winners only.
When he addressed the penalties on Thursday, Kenseth said he planned to talk, then put the matter behind him. As the Sprint Cup garage filled Friday, he said he heard from several people, but then went back to work and will let it play out.
"I think almost every person that I've talked to has been very supportive," he said. "I just kind of left it behind me. I'm just going to let the appeals process work out and see what happens. Whatever it is it is. We'll have to deal with the consequences then and move on. For now, it's just business as usual. There's absolutely nothing we can do about anything that happened last week at this point so you just put that out of your head. It's only a distraction if you let it become one."  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/9216137/matt-kenseth-wins-richmond-pole-penalties

Good Luck To Hostess

From the New York Daily News: This'll put the Twinkie back in your eye — the famous Hostess cream-filled sponge cake is making a comeback.
A reworked Hostess company on Thursday said it plans to relaunch its bakeries after a financial meltdown last November forced the iconic snack maker to declare bankruptcy.
After months of restructuring, Hostess is ready to get back to churning out sweets, which means those with a sweet tooth will be able to get a Twinkie fix this summer.
“We expect to be making and selling in July,” Michael Cramer, executive vice president of Hostess Brands LLC, told NBC News. “Probably the later half of the month before the product hits the stores.”
Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/twinkies-return-store-shelves-summer-article-1.1327808#ixzz2RXx27tUE
While Hostess may think they are coming back, they are going to find it hard to get shelf space.
I know at the Wal-Mart I work at, Great Value along with about 4 other brands or more have taken the spot of Hostess on shelves.
Good luck to Hostess and hope they don't have to bother with union thugs.

Aww, Too Bad

From the San Fran Chronicle: A Chinese immigrant accused of killing her unborn infant by eating rat poison while pregnant says her life has been difficult since she was charged but that she stays busy to avoid dwelling on her upcoming murder trial.
"I work all the time. I work. It helps," Bei Bei Shuai told Indianapolis television station WRTV (http://bit.ly/17Yxzng ) for a story Thursday. "I don't have time to think about it. I work seven days a week."
Shuai was eight months pregnant when she ate rat poison in December 2010 in a suicide attempt after her boyfriend broke up with her. Doctors called authorities when the baby died three days after being delivered prematurely.
Prosecutors charged Shuai with murder and feticide in March 2011. She was released on bond last May after more than a year in jail following an Indiana Court of Appeals ruling in her favor.
"My life has been difficult. I was scared," said Shuai, a 36-year-old Shanghai native. "It has been really, really difficult."

Safe Deposit Boxes Not Safe

From the Chicago Tribune: After flooding filled the basement vault of a Northfield bank, William Hielscher arrived to inventory the contents of his mother's safe-deposit box — one of a few hundred that had been exposed to floodwaters several days earlier.
Chase bank employees led him past a security guard, behind a floor-to-ceiling plastic curtain and down some stairs into a humid, rank-smelling room. There, workers wearing disposable gloves gingerly drained dirty water from his safe-deposit box, then photographed the contents under the watchful eye of bank employees.
Hielscher, a lawyer, described the ordeal as more emotional than expected as he looked at his mother's string of pearls and water-sodden photographs. He was stunned when the bank at 400 Central Ave. asked him to sign a release stating that it was not liable for losses.
"I find that to be unconscionable," said Hielscher, who refused to sign the release and told several other customers that they shouldn't sign it either.
He discovered what many disaster victims seldom learn until it's too late — that the contents of safe-deposit boxes are not covered by banks or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. As in superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Katrina and other disasters, people who weren't covered by homeowners insurance lost valuable heirlooms and documents, believing they were safe.
"Perhaps it should be called a 'potentially unsafe' deposit box," said Hielscher, who noted that his mother's pearls were described as "white beads" by a bank employee who wrote down the inventory. "I think people are under the mistaken impression that the bank is protecting their valuables the same way the bank is protecting their money."  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-northfield-chase-bank-flooded-20130426,0,1286566.story
Who would have thought that the big banks that love Obama would be out to screw the little guy.

Lucky Idiot

From Fox News: A tourist tried to jump from the Empire State Building yesterday — but only made it one floor down, police sources said.
Nathaniel Simone, 33, climbed over a security fence on the observation deck on the 86th floor about 11:30 p.m. and jumped — but only fell to the 85th floor, sources said.
“He climbed over the fence and dropped down,” a police source said.
He suffered a broken ankle and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment in police custody

Better luck next time, dude.

Obama's Stupid Move

From the San Fran Chronicle:
The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings acknowledged to the FBI his role in the attacks but did so before he was advised of his constitutional right to keep quiet and seek a lawyer, U.S. officials said Wednesday.
Once Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was read his rights on Monday, he immediately stopped talking, according to four officials of both political parties who were briefed on the interrogation but insisted on anonymity because the briefing was private.
After roughly 16 hours of questioning, investigators were surprised when a magistrate judge and a representative from the U.S. Attorney's office entered the hospital room and read Tsarnaev his rights, the four officials and one law enforcement official said. Investigators had planned to keep questioning him.
It is unclear whether any of this will matter in court since the FBI says Tsarnaev confessed to a witness and U.S. officials said Wednesday that physical evidence, including a 9 mm handgun and pieces of a remote-control device commonly used in toys, was recovered from the scene.

Clearly the Obama administration has no idea how to handle this case, which just shows the incompetence of Obama, a supposed constitutional scholar.

Bad Day For Wisconsin NASCAR Drivers

From ESPN: NASCAR came down hard Wednesday on the Joe Gibbs Racing team of Matt Kenseth after the engine in the winning No. 20 car from Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway failed inspection.
Kenseth was penalized 50 points in the standings and his crew chief, Jason Ratcliff, was suspended for six races -- as well as the May 18 All-Star race -- and fined $200,000 after the engine failed a secondary postrace inspection....
The president of Toyota Racing Development was quick to take full blame for the violation that cost Kenseth and JGR everything but the trophy and the official win.
"This is a total screw-up on our part,'' Lee White told ESPN.com. "I'm not going to point fingers at anybody. This is on my head. We neglected to double- and triple-check a shipment of parts from a European vender."
Kenseth was essentially stripped of the win -- he also lost the three bonus points he earned for the win that would have been applied in seeding for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. His pole, which would have made him eligible for the 2014 Sprint Unlimited at Daytona International Speedway, also was rescinded.  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/9206870/nascar-lowers-boom-matt-kenseth-engine-partAndJohnny Sauter lost the lead in the Truck Series standings Wednesday when NASCAR docked him 25 points for a modified fuel cell found during inspection last weekend at Kansas Speedway.Sauter's crew chief, Joe Shear, was fined $10,000, suspended for the next four races and placed on probation until Dec. 31.
The penalty knocked Sauter from a 12-point lead over Matt Crafton in the standings to a tie with Jeb Burton in second, 13 points out.
The fuel cell was confiscated during the opening day of inspection at Kansas. According to NASCAR's release, there was an unapproved modification to the fuel cell safety foam.  http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/truck/story/_/id/9207249/johnny-sauter-loses-nascar-truck-lead-points-penalty
Personally, I think the penalties against the drivers seem to Draconian, since it was not their fault.

"This Is My Jail"

I wish the warden said that.
From Fox News: A Maryland gang member is accused of running a scheme to smuggle contraband into prison by "corrupting" 13 female prison guards from behind bars, four of whom he impregnated.
A federal indictment says Tavon White has been charged in the plot to smuggle drugs, cell phones and other contraband into the Baltimore jail and other corrections facilities, along with the prison guards, six of his fellow inmates and five others with gang ties who allegedly operated outside the jails.
The indictment also says the ring involved sex between the inmates and guards, which led to four of the officers becoming pregnant by White, the leader of a jailhouse gang called the Black Guerrilla Family.
White is accused of "corrupting" the female officers through personal and sexual relationships and other bribes and convincing them to join his ring, Fox Baltimore reports.
MyFoxDC.com reports the ring became increasingly brazen and confident over time, with White quoted as saying: "You understand me? This is my jail. I am dead serious, I make every final call in this jail."

Obamaville: Woman Arrested 396 Times

From newscome.com Chicago:  A Chicago woman has been arrested at least 396 times since 1978, including 92 times for theft and an alleged attack on a City Council member.
Over the years, Shermain Miles, 51, was arrested 65 times for disorderly conduct and 59 times for crimes related to prostitution, among other things, according to the Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/17FfjyZ). She has used at least 83 different aliases and is well known among merchants and residents in several neighborhoods on Chicago’s North Side. One florist called police about her 25 times last summer.
Miles, who is homeless, is imprisoned at the Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln. She was arrested last year after allegedly chasing down Chicago Alderman James Cappleman, which is a possible parole violation after a 2010 conviction for robbing a 75-year-old at knifepoint. She’s due before the Illinois Prisoner Review Board Tuesday. If it’s determined that she violated her parole, she will be behind bars until April 2014.
Her arrests have numbered so many that she is in the top 1 percent for all current Chicago Police Department arrestees. Within the last year all her cases have been assigned to a one community-based prosecutor.
Miles declined a jailhouse interview with the newspaper after initially agreeing to one. In a handwritten letter to the newspaper before the scheduled interview she described her faith and said she was looking forward to telling her story.  http://newsone.com/2409695/shermain-miles-chicago/

Just A POS "Church"

From the Houston Chronicle:
Westboro Baptist Church will be coming to Baylor University in Waco on Thursday to protest outside memorial services for firefighters who lost their lives in last week's fertilizer plant explosion in West.
Addressing reporters this afternoon, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara never referenced any organization by name but said that any group that tries to disrupt the event "will be dealt with swiftly and prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
President Barack Obama and the first lady Michelle Obama are also expected to attend the ceremony at Baylor's Ferrell Center after appearing at the official opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. President Obama is also speaking at a Democratic fundraiser in Dallas on Wednesday evening.
A news release faxed and emailed from the the controversial religious sect praised God for the violent explosion that leveled parts of West. According to the missive, the explosion was due to God's hatred of gay marriage. The sect also threw in a few biblical scriptures for good measure.
If you remember, gay marriage is still not legal in the state of Texas, though the church sees the explosion, which was accidental, as a sign from God himself of gay marriage's destructive tendencies.
The church is also campaigning for the United States to change its official name to "the United States Of Terror" or "Magormissabib", to reflect the sinful nature of the country.  http://www.chron.com/news/article/Westboro-Baptist-Church-heading-to-West-for-4457329.php
Wouldn't it be nice if a fire truck lost control, hit the members of the POS "Church" and then everyone can march and picket at their funerals?
Karma, baby!

If Only It Was True

From the New York Daily News:
Hackers broke into the Associated Press’s Twitter account Tuesday and fired off a tweet that terrified the nation from Pennsylvania Avenue to Wall Street.
“Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured,” read the bogus post, which exploded into the media-verse around 1 p.m.
Seconds later, the Dow Jones industrial average plunged more than 128 points and President Obama’s spokesman was forced to reassure reporters that the president was all right and the report was false.....
“A tweet about an attack at the White House is false,” the AP statement said. “We will advise on acct. status."

Oh well, I guess, in the end, it would not be a good thing if the White House was attacked.  After all, all the decorations, the marble, the historic sights would have been hard to replace.

Obamaville: 15 Year Old Shot And Killed By Obama's House

From the Chicago Tribune: Timika Rutledge-German finally accepted there was only so much she could do to protect her 15-year-old son from Chicago's dangerous streets, but when he called for her help, she knew she would go.
On Monday night, her son phoned her for a ride home.
Minutes later, as he lay dying on the South Side from a bullet wound to the back, her son called out for her one more time.
"Call my mama," her son, Cornelius German, cried out, she later learned. But she could not help him this time. Her son was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Cook County medical examiner's office, and no one was in custody for his homicide Tuesday evening.
While her son had trouble in school and had friends who were gang members, she said, he was still just a boy.
"He's still a 15-year-old kid," she said. "He was still a baby. He didn't deserve this."
German, nicknamed "Cornbread," was killed just four blocks from President Barack Obama's Kenwood home, echoing the slaying of Hadiya Pendleton, an honors student, also 15, whose shooting in January in Harsh Park, about a mile north of the president's residence, brought international attention to Chicago's gun violence.  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-4-shot-in-englewood-20130422,0,7111292.story
You really think Obama cares what is happening in Chicago?  Hell no.  He is more interested in cases like Treyvon Martin, Boston Bombings and other things around the country than Chicago, where he lived and served after he supposedly became an adult.

How Sad

From the Reno Gazette Journal: Glen Campbell's Alzheimer's disease has progressed too far to allow him to continue touring.
Instead, he'll spend his 77th birthday on Monday in Washington as an advocate for Alzheimer's research. The trip includes a fundraising dinner for the Alzheimer's Association and a visit to Capitol Hill, where he'll visit the Senate.
Alzheimer's has robbed Campbell of many of his best memories, gained over a lifetime as an entertainment icon who was a pop star, a groundbreaking session musician, an actor and TV variety show host. But it hasn't taken everything.
Campbell will release a new album, "See You There," on July 30. It's a reimagining of some of his most popular songs, recorded by Julian Raymond during the same sessions that produced Campbell's last studio album of all new material, 2011's "Ghost on the Canvas."...
In a brief interview, Campbell said of the songs: "Oh, they're great. Those are great."
His wife, Kim Campbell, says her husband still occasionally lays down vocal tracks in the studio but the disease has progressed too far to allow him to continue touring, something the family and Campbell's management left open when he wrapped up his successful goodbye world tour last year.
"Glen still wants to record, but it's just a matter of if he's able to," Kim Campbell said. "It just gets more and more difficult for him all the time."  http://www.rgj.com/viewart/20130423/ENT/130423037/Glen-Campbell-ends-touring-career-release-new-album
My father had Alzheimer's and it was sad to see him go down hill.  The same thing will happen to Campbell as he will forget he was an actual star in Country Music and all his fame and all of his problems.
Thank goodness he has a loving family around him.

Hillary, Obama Responsible For Benghazi Deaths

Obama's blood trail from Benghazi to Boston
Obama and Clinton have blood of an American diplomat and 3 others on their hands.
From the Washington Times: House Republicans have concluded that the Pentagon and U.S. intelligence agencies bear no blame for failing to halt the terrorist assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year, releasing a report Tuesday that said President Obama and the State Department set up the military for failure.
The report also found that plenty of intelligence presaged the attack, but the White House and State Department — including the secretary at the time, Hillary Rodham Clinton — failed to heed the warnings.
In the most damning conclusion, House Republicans said Mr. Obama’s team lied about the attacks afterward, first by blaming mob violence spawned by an anti-Muslim video, and then wrongly saying it had misled the public because it was trying to protect an FBI investigation.
“This progress report reveals a fundamental lack of understanding at the highest levels of the State Department as to the dangers presented in Benghazi, Libya, as well as a concerted attempt to insulate the Department of State from blame following the terrorist attacks,” the GOP investigation concluded in its 46-page report.
The White House dismissed the report as a rehash of questions the administration has answered, and said it has provided extraordinary cooperation.
The report was released after rank-and-file Republicans feared the pressure to get answers on the Benghazi attacks was subsiding.
Some House Republicans want to create a Watergate-style special committee to investigate the attacks, but leaders have resisted, saying the existing investigative, defense, foreign affairs, intelligence and judiciary committees can handle it. Tuesday’s interim report is the result.
The GOP report said the White House was responsible for prohibiting the mention of terrorism, and the report said administration officials were trying to shield themselves from criticism that they had been too lax in security.
“It is clear that the State Department expressed concerns — and was backed by the White House — that the information be removed to avoid criticism for ignoring the general threat environment in Benghazi,” the report said.
Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/apr/23/house-gop-administration-blew-benghazi-response/#ixzz2RMATDeNZ
I realize this was a report by the GOP, but seriously, what good would it have been to include Democrats who don't want to find out the truth.
There have been many reasons to impeach Obama and this one tops the list.

Another Stupid Idea from UNLV

From the LVRJ: The estimated cost for UNLV’s proposed domed, 60,000-seat stadium is $548.4 million — the biggest chunk of the university’s $900 million stadium project, the Review-Journal has learned.
University officials have publicly refused to discuss project costs, but did share the price tag in a Nov. 20, 2102, cost estimate report with representatives of the hotel-casino industry and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority who were invited to a private meeting late last year.
The newspaper obtained the information after filing a public records request with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The total Phase 1 project costs for what UNLV has dubbed the “Mega Events Center,” excluding financing costs, hit $899,841,523, according to the document prepared by Eiman Consulting. That includes $52.7 million in contingency costs.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/document-details-costs-unlvs-domed-stadium-plan
This has to be the stupidest idea from UNLV in a long time.
We don't need a domed stadium, especially on that will cost $1,000,000,000.
UNLV, the State and others do not have the money for it.
Further, we have a horrible football team that has not earned the right to compete in a domed stadium and the stadium will compete against private casinos for events and that is not good.
If UNLV has that amount of money to spend, then maybe they can open a medical college for doctors and nurses.

Now I Understand Why People Are Frustrated With The Court System

Today, I went to court because my ex-wife enjoys the attention the court brings her.  We have been to court for our divorce that was supposedly finalized 6 years ago,  4 times this year, with more to come.
I knew this was going to be a tough court hearing when the judge was giving the finger to a plaintiff  in another case who was giving him problems by her attitude. (He really did give the finger to the plaintiff)
(I'm not naming the judge because overall, he has been fair in my case)
The judge allowed the plaintiff to prattle on with her lies and other BS for about 5 minutes and then let me talk for about 10 seconds.
The judge ruled and it seemed he had already made up hi mind what he was going to do.
The case was the last case of the morning and as soon as the case was over, the judge raced out the court room, maybe to go to the bathroom.
I can sympathize with the judges because they have to listen, hour after hour to lawyers who like to babble on, to those who don't have an attorney and pretend they know what is going on.
But because the judge was pissed off from a case that came before us and we were the last case before lunch, the judge decided to short change me and did not give me a fair hearing.
Even though I was screwed by the judge in this hearing, I still have faith in the judge and the next hearing, it will be different.
If not, there will be hell to pay for the judge.
But those who are frustrated because of the judges in Clark County, I understand how you feel.

Pawn Stars Review: April 22, 2013

Summer is starting to hit Las Vegas as the temperatures today hit 90 degrees in many areas of the Las Vegas Valley.
The Philippine Star did an article on the Pawn Stars: When the night descends upon Las Vegas, the city gets even brighter. Lit with miles and miles of neon lights, the streets are abuzz with tourists, winos, bums and hawkers handing out cards with photos of scantily-clad lady escorts.
On a nippy night, we head downtown on Las Vegas Blvd. and drive away from the themed hotels, casinos and tourists. Past numerous gaudy wedding chapels and near the East Bonneville Ave., we spy our destination and pull into the parking lot beside it. A large red and white “Pawn Shop Open 24 Hours” tries to sear into the gloom. It’s not a particularly attractive sign, just a run-of-the-mill, almost obligatory move to declare the business within. But to its right is an acetate, backlit rectangle that depicts four unsmiling gentlemen who, if you didn’t know better, look like mobsters.
Welcome to Pawn Stars ground zero. The immensely popular History program is shot right here at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawnshop, which some 4,000 devotees and curiosity seekers visit daily.
If by chance you haven’t heard of it yet, Pawn Stars documents the adventures of three generations of the Harrisons who own and run the establishment. Former Navy man Richard “Old Man” Harrison relocated his family from San Diego, California when the real estate business went belly up and cost him a million dollars. “My wife and I decided that we would move to Vegas to start a new business. At that time, it was the land of opportunity for small business owners,” he had shared with The STAR in an e-mail interview. Indeed, the $10,000 initial investment soon turned into a multi-million-dollar business.  http://www.philstar.com/entertainment/2013/04/17/931453/visit-pawn-stars-ground-zero

Just Asking

What is the difference between the Boston Marathon Bombers and the people President Obama and academia adore, Bill Ayers and  Bernadine Dorhn?
How about the thugs who killed a researcher in Madison, WI. in 1970.  The thugs included Karleton and Dwight Armstrong, David Fine and Leo Burt.  The left idolized these thugs and murderers.
So, please me tell the difference between all these bombers and murderers.

Maybe This Should Have Been A Clue?

NYC PAPERS OUT. Social media use restricted to low res file max 184 x 128 pixels and 72 dpi

From the New York Daily News:

The vanity plate on the front of the suspects' BMW SUV reads "TERRORISTA #1.

Two foreign nationals — who are believed to be associates of the alleged Boston Marathon bombers — were arrested Saturday on immigration violations, authorities said.
The men, identified by neighbors as 19-year-olds from Kazakhstan, drove around in a black BMW with the mock license plate, “TERRORISTA #1.”
The pair was hauled out of their New Bedford apartment in handcuffs about 3:50 p.m. The raid was carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, a spokesman told the Daily News.

If this is true, then the license plate should have been a clue, but you never know about the Internet.

Another Reason Not To Support The Immigration Bill

From the San Fran Chronicle:
Authorities say five people died after the van they were traveling in rolled over in southern Arizona as it was being pursued by Border Patrol agents.
Rural/Metro Fire spokesman Willie Treatch says 22 people were in the van at the time it rolled over Saturday night in between Tucson and Benson, Ariz.
Seventeen other people were taken to hospitals for treatment. Their injuries are unknown.
Treatch says he didn't know the circumstances of the vehicle pursuit by the Border Patrol.

No matter what the Gang of 8 Old White Men do, illegals will still come to the United States and the new immigration bill will do nothing to stop the crossing of illegals into the United States.

Firefighters Who Died In West Texas Named

In a story more important than the Boston bombings, the names of the firefighters killed in the line of duty have been identified.
From the Chicago Tribune: Texas officials released the names of four volunteer firefighters on Sunday killed in a deadly blast in this close-knit Texas town, as authorities identified the center but not the cause of last week's deadly fertilizer plant blast.
Among the dead named at a news conference outside city hall in West, Texas, were brothers Doug and Robert Snokhous, remembered by their family as "lifelong best friends" who lived half a mile from each other and worked together at an ironworks in nearby Waco....

A liaison official for the Texas Line of Duty Death Task Force, which cares for the families of fallen first responders, read a statement for Dane and Rhonda Chapman, whose son Jerry Chapman died in the blast.
The Chapmans - who stood silently, their heads bowed - remembered him as man who had "found his passion and life." His faith in God and his fellow firefighters "gave him the strength to lay down his life for others," they said.
Officials identified a fourth firefighter, Kevin Sanders. His family said he gave his life protecting others, adding simply: "We love him and will miss him very much."

RIP firefighters and prayers to the families and to the West Volunteer Fire Dept. and the other fire departments involved in fighting the fire.

If You Value Privacy, Don't Get Your Med's From Walgreens

This week has been frustrating for a relative of mine who is need of pain medication here in Clark County.  The medication is needed for a chronic back injury that was the result of a screwed up back surgery.  The injury is confirmed by x-rays, MRI's and other tests.
They were prescribed Oxycodone 10mg along with another medication.
They dropped the prescription off at the Walgreens at Lake Mead and Boulder Highway in Henderson.
They were told the medication would be available the next day.
They then got a phone call from the pharmacist stating she would not fill the prescription.  They did not say why.
The next day, I went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription from the Walgreens and I started to ask questions.
I asked the pharmacist on duty and who did not deny my relative the medication she needed.
She stated that Walgreens has guidelines in which they determine if the amount medication prescribed is appropriate.  I asked the pharmacist if that means that are overruling what a doctor prescribed and if that means they more about the patient and their needs than Walgreens.  She had no answer.  I asked if they had contacted the doctor that prescribed the medication and said they had and the doctor said the prescriptions were legitimate.
She stated that Walgreens demands of each doctor that prescribes any kind of narcotic medication give them, Walgreens, all of the patient's medical history. Of course, this violates HIPPA laws about patient privacy.
They then said that the prescription that my relative presented violated Walgreens guidelines in prescribing medication.
I asked which part of the guidelines did the prescription violate and the pharmacist.  I had to ask her 3 times when she finally said that she would not answer the question.  She said the guidelines are private because Walgreens policy is private.
So, here are three problems with Walgreens and their policy.
1.  The pharmacist can refuse to fill a prescription for any reason, including discrimination.  This may include discrimination against men, women, the handicapped, their skin color, religion, the way they look, sexual orientation etc.
2.  It seems that the pharmacists can overrule a doctor  and how the prescribe medication, even though the doctor knows the patient, has their medical history.  This is wrong and not the role of a pharmacist.
3.  It seems that Walgreens wants the patient's medical history, even though it would violate HIPPA laws governing patient privacy.  Why would Walgreens demand a patient's medical history?
So, if you want your HIPPA rights violated, have pharmacists over rule doctors and potentially discriminate against you for any reason, go ahead, shop at Walgreens.
Otherwise, please do not patronize Walgreens.  They have to be one of the worst pharmacy's in the United States and they are not looking out for your best interests.
And I will be filing a complaint with Nevada Pharmacy Board because of Walgreens outrageous conduct.

I Hope They Win But...

The Milwaukee Bucks are my favorite basketball team and they are in the NBA playoffs.
Why, I'm not sure.  Their season record was 38-44, so they really do not belong in the playoffs.  So much for their chance of winning the lottery pick for the NB draft.
However, if LeBron James is struck by lightening, Ray Allen suddenly gets religion and runs away with gang of polygamists to a small town in Utah and starts a harem, Chris Bosh decides to star in a movie with Lindsay Lohan and they have a red hot love scene and Dwyane Wade flips sides because he used to play at Marquette, which is located in Milwaukee, and decides to become a Jesuit priest.
Now, if all that happens, the Bucks have a chance, still not much of won, but at least they have a chance.
The odds from the Las Vegas bookmakers don't give the Bucks much of a chance (1%) of winning the series.
From the Las Vegas Sun:
No. 1 Miami Heat vs. No. 8 Milwaukee Bucks
Series Price: Heat minus-20,000; Bucks plus-7,500
Game One: Heat minus-13.5 (Sunday at 4 p.m.)
What to consider: It’s hard to believe the Heat opened as co-favorites to win the NBA title with the Oklahoma City Thunder last fall. Both teams were plus-250 at the LVH Superbook, but no one’s near Miami anymore. At minus-160 to win another championship, sports books give the Heat better than a 60 percent chance to repeat. They’re also given an astounding 99 percent chance to beat Milwaukee

Hey why not put $10 on the Bucks and you may win a few hundred dollars.

Watch Out, Here Come The Liberals Hearting The Boston Bomber

From the Las Vegas Sun: Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev lay hospitalized in serious condition under heavy guard Saturday as people around the city breathed easier and investigators tried to piece together the who and why of the deadly plot.
Tsarnaev, 19, was reported to be in no condition to be interrogated the morning after he was pulled, wounded and bloody, from a tarp-covered boat in a Watertown backyard. The capture came at the end of a tense day that began with his older brother, Tamerlan, dying in a desperate getaway attempt....
U.S. officials said a special interrogation team for high-value suspects would question the Massachusetts college student without reading him his Miranda rights, invoking a rare public-safety exception that exists in cases of immediate danger.
The American Civil Liberties Union expressed concern about that possibility. Executive Director Anthony Romero said the exception applies only when there is a continued threat to public safety and is "not an open-ended exception" to the Miranda rule, which guarantees the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney.
The federal public defender's office in Massachusetts said it has agreed to represent Tsarnaev once he is charged. Miriam Conrad, public defender for Massachusetts, said he should have a lawyer appointed as soon as possible because there are "serious issues regarding possible interrogation."

I will say this, if the bomber thug gets off because he wasn't read his Miranda rights, Obama and Obama alone will be held responsible.  If the bomber thug is let off because the government violated his rights, Obama has to be impeached and criminally prosecuted for treason.
