Pawn Stars Review: June 4, 2012

Today, there is only 1 new episode of Pawn Stars as the Las Vegas Pawn Stars are sharing the 10:00 time slot with the Cajun Pawn Stars.
The first guy brought in a Joker Poker Stained Glass window and the picture was picture of dogs playing poker.  The stain glass was made by a guy named CM Coolidge.  The guy wanted $5000 and Corey $1500 and then $1700 and that was the selling price.
Close but not quite the picture on the show

The next guy brought in a handwritten book that was quite old.  Rick thought the book was from the 1500-1600's.  The guy wanted $500 and and Rick offered $250.  the guy wanted $300 but settled for $250.
Time for an expert, Rebbecca.  She said it was a copy of a printed book.  Rebbecca had to take the book to another expert to see what the language was.  Rebbecca said it was Russia Church Slavonic and it was from the early 1800's.  http://www.scientificpsychic.com/search/slavonic.html  The writings may be from  St. John Chrysostom and then copied to the book. (I have to look at the video tomorrow).  Rebbecca said the book was worth about $1500.
The next guy brought in bricks of silver, 3000 ounces of silver.  He also had some quarters and other silver coins.  Actually,m he had a large bag of quarters.  (Can they legally melt down silver coins?)  The guy also had a huge rock of silver, at least the size of cinder block which weighed about 70 pounds.  Rick drilled a hole in the block and then tested the filings with nitric acid.  It turned out the block was real.  Rick offered $110, 901 and it was firm.  The guy wanted $115,000.  Rick then offered $111,000 and that was the selling price.  Can you imagine the taxes this guy will have to pay?  On the other hand, the guy, after paying the taxes could buy 2-3 houses in Las Vegas.
Rick played a joke on the Old Man and had a coin made of the Old Man and they are going to sell the coins at the store for $60.
The next guy brought in some Batman Forever props, including a Riddler pop up book along with another Batman prop (Batman's logo?).  The guy wanted $6000 and Corey offered $2000 and then $2200.  The guy wanted $3000 and there was no deal.
That wraps the single new episode of Pawn Stars and there will be at least 1 new show next week.  Thanks for stopping by.
