According to the U.S. Census, Nevada ranks 43 in per pupil spending in the 2009-10. Of course, this will be a disappointment to those activists who claim we are at the bottom when it comes to per pupil spending.

Nevada spends about $8,400 per student.
Washington DC, New York and Wyoming are at the top of the list while Utah, Idaho, Tennessee are at the bottom.of the list. (page 29 of the write up) Of the top 15 states, 11 are from the East.
So, is Nevada that bad in spending money for education, compared to other states? Not really. $8400 is a lot of money per student, especially compared to 10 years ago. But the big question is, are we getting our money's worth? That's a different question.
