You have to hand it to the Pahrump Valley Times, the little newspaper in the town 60 miles north and west of Las Vegas. Their editorial today shows once again there is very little intelligent life in the PVT's office.
Today, the editorial board (see coward, Matt Ward and perhaps others) complains loudly about the rudeness of some members of the Nye County Republican Central Committee towards the Pahrump Town Board when they tried to make citizens arrests when the board overturned a law about incorporation: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2012/06/dont-give-democrats-any-ideas.html
So, what does the PVT say about the NCRCC and it's leaders?:And we all got hurt Tuesday night when the goons of the Nye County
Republican Central Committee attempted to arrest three members of the
town board for voting to repeal a town ordinance.
What a three-ring circus that was. It truly boggles the mind.
The audacity. The chutzpah of these people. The shear, unadulterated stupidity.
We don’t use the term idiot lightly, but, boy, what a bunch of idiots.
If you don’t know what went down, let us fill you in....
The wingnuttery of the local GOP alas sees the world in grand
conspiracies — darkness clouds their world, idiocy blinds them to the
realities right before their eyes.
Illegal aliens are stealing jobs,
real aliens are behind gay marriage, and that darned Pahrump Town Board
is trying to back-door an incorporation vote again! To the wingnut
mobile, Robin!
Bill Carns and his merry band of prospective felons — yes, we’re referring to you firestarter — sent a scathing letter to the town board responding to their ordinance
repealing agenda item. The letter states bluntly that any attempt to
repeal the ordinance will be met with swift, legal action in the form of
a citizens arrest. The town board, the town manager, the town attorney,
the water fountain, that TV babe Jenny Manning, all off to the hoosegow
— don’t pass gow.
The letter even threatened the sheriff’s office
if the jail doesn’t accept the prisoners. It lets the DA know refusal to
prosecute would be considered malfeasance in office, subject to
prosecution....

And so, what does the PVT say at the end of the editorial?: There are ways to do things politically — vote, petition, recall,
protest — that are appropriate and absolutely right to do, even when we
think you’re wrong by doing it.
Then there is this sort of calamity — thuggery, idiocy, heavy-handedness. It has no place in polite politics.
Seriously, PVT and Matt Ward? After writing an editorial about the lack of civility of the NCRCC by calling some of the members names, making fun of them and pretty much acting like thugs and goons behind their computers, then they say this kind of behavior has no place in polite politics.
And to the editorial writer(s), you are in serious need of a mental health check up Only a person who is mentally unbalanced is able to write an editorial like this.
But I am personally glad the PVT is out there in all their mentally unbalanced glory because, while they lack intelligence and ethics, they are certainly a source of humor, which is good during these poor economic times.
Blessed and Merry Christmas!

I haven't bought the PVTimes for two years.
ReplyDeleteThey are a lousy newspaper for sure and they broke the mold when they made Matt Ward.
They have banned me from their online site(such as it is) for my comments about what a newspaper should do. Report the news, who what where when and why.
