Why doesn't Nevada Have Honor Flights For WWII Veterans?

When reading the Wisconsin newspapers, I have read a lot about Honor Flights leaving Wisconsin with groups of World War II Veterans for a day long trip to Washington D.C.. When in Washington D.C., they are treated to a day of visiting the different memorials in the city, including the WWII Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial.
This is happening all over the country and in fact, there are 38 States participating in Honor Flight, but sadly, Nevada is not one of the states.
Considering how many veterans move to Las Vegas and Nevada to retire, it is a shame that we don't have a Honor Flight Network organization.

It would be nice if someone with some prominence could start the program here in Las Vegas and Nevada. Or even someone with less clout could help start the program.
What a way to help our older veterans be recognized in ways that they never were when they were in the service.

  1. I just got back from being the nurse on a flight from Arkansas. It was one of my most rewarding experiences. I would love to be a part of this for Nevada. Cindy Zeiders
