Senate Votes To Cut Off ACORN Funds: Whoopdeedo

Tonight, the Senate decided to cut off funding to ACORN. Michelle Malkin has some pretty good details: http://michellemalkin.com/2009/09/14/senate-votes-on-johanns-amendment-to-cut-off-acorn-housing-funds/
Here's the problem, this will never pass the House. The U.S. House has far more radicals and enablers of ACORN. Further, they have their biggest supporter in the Whitehouse.
The Senate made a token effort and had a vote to make them look more conservative, but it was probably be a sham vote. What makes me very suspicious is that Schumer voted "no".
However, Kudo's to my Senator, Reid and Ensign and to my former senators, Kohl and Feingold for voting to remove the funding.

  1. I don't think the House will preserve ACORN's funding. That sting operation put ACORN beyond the pale for most politicians. Yes, there are a few extreme radicals and enablers in the House, but most of the House Dems will not want to see their opponents run campaign ads next year claiming the incumbent voted to fund assistance for pimps to import and exploit underage sex slaves. Pelosi wants to keep her majority, so she'll keep the majority in line. It has nothing to do with her personal opinion of ACORN; it's all about staying in power.
