100 Year Old Wal-Mart Greeter Knocked Down In Milwaukee

From jsonline: Prosecutors likely won't decide until next week whether to file charges against a 37-year-old woman accused of injuring a 100-year-old woman during a dispute last weekend at a Milwaukee Wal-Mart where the older woman works as a greeter, an official with the Milwaukee County district attorney's office said Friday.
Both women and their attorneys met with prosecutors Friday. The attorneys have viewed a surveillance video of the incident but have completely different interpretations of what occurred.
The incident occurred Sunday as the younger woman was leaving the store at 3355 S. 27th St. after making purchases.
Milwaukee police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said Monday that the younger woman pushed the greeter, Lois Speelman, to the floor after Speelman tried to verify that the woman had paid for water stored on the bottom rack of her shopping cart.
Speelman said in an interview that she hit her head and underwent a CT scan Sunday night before being released from the hospital. She returned to work Thursday.
The younger woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery at her home in Milwaukee on Sunday and was held in jail until Monday evening, according to police and her lawyer, Julius Kim. She has never been arrested before, Kim said

First, I am surprised that Wal-Mart has a 100 year old people greeter employed. Good for Wal-Mart and Lois Speelman.
As a former employee at Wal-Mart, I also know that being a door greeter is a dangerous job. You have people like this thug who gets pissed when they are asked to prove they paid for an item. You also have shoplifters and the door area is where security usually detains a shoplifting subject. One time I saw fight break out between security and a shoplifter and as they were fighting, they rolled over an elderly people greeter, severely and permanently injuring the people greeter.
So, I am glad that a 100 year old lady wants to work and Wal-Mart gave her an opportunity and I am glad she was not seriously hurt. I just hope she stays safer.
