Democrats/Obama Take Unions For Granted

Democrats take their base for granted. The poor? How is that war on poverty working out for you? Blacks? How is that sky high unemployment working for you? Environmentalists? When you have hypocrites like Obama, Al Gore and Harry Reid who leave carbon foot prints as big as the State of Nevada, environmentalists really can't be taken very seriously.
So, now the Democrats want to piss off more of their base by choosing Charlotte, North Carolina as it's site for the Democratic convention in 2012.
North Carolina is a right to work state and only about 3% of it's work force is unionized. From Michelle Malkin: In picking North Carolina as the site of their 2012 convention, Democrats didn’t just pick a state that’s relatively unfriendly to unions. They picked the least unionized state in the entire country.
It was a stinging rebuke to one of the Democratic Party’s most loyal and influential constituencies. And labor leaders are fuming at the slight.
The selection was “a calculated affront,” said Rick Sloan, communications director for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
What’s worse, Sloan noted, the convention is set to begin on Mon., Sept. 3, 2012 — Labor Day.
“Going to a right-to-work state and starting a convention on Labor Day for the Democrats?” he said. “Wow. That’s quite the equation.”[...]The hotel workers’ union specifically asked the Democratic National Committee several months ago not to consider Charlotte because of its lack of union hotel rooms.

This of course is going to be very difficult for Democrats. Do they stay or eat in non-unionized hotels and restaurants? What happens if there are no picket lines set up, which seems to happen at every Democratic convention? How else do Democrats at the bottom of the food chain get publicity and recognition for not crossing a picket line?
The worse case scenario of the convention would be is if the convention was smoothly run with very little union help and under budget. It will just demonstrate that you don't need union help to have a great convention.
Now, if this was the GOP. this wouldn't be a problem, but the Democrats love looking for a solution in search of a problem and this probably won't be happening in North Carolina.
So, liberal union members, how do you like being taken for granted, just like blacks, poor and and now unions?
