CCSD Uses Parentlink Phone Number To Invite Parents To Protest Budget Cuts

Today, we got a phone call from Clark County School District Parentlink program encouraging parents to protest, err discuss, the proposed budget cuts next week. Parentlink is a way the parent and school can communicate. A parent can find out a kids grade and attendance and apparently CCSD can use Parentlink to encourage people to participate in political activities.
First, as a teacher, I received an e-mail from a union leader saying I should come to these meetings to protest, err discuss the budget cuts.
Now, I get a phone call from the school district about these same meetings.
Earlier this week, CCSD administrators and board members were up in Carson City lobbying legislators. The legislators know how CCSD stands on it's issues. The governor knows how CCSD feels. So, why the need to protest? Tell sob stories? Promote lies? Say we are competent leaders of the school district?
This is just CCSD putting on a dog and pony to protest the budget cuts.
Why is CCSD using government resources to encourage people to protest, err, discuss the budget cuts? Why is CCSD permitting the CCEA, the teachers union, to use it's resources in promoting the protests?
Maybe the CCSD board and administration should put more time in trying to figure what to do instead promoting protests that are not going to work.
