Walker Wants To Cut $300 Million In Education- Been There Done That

$300,000,000. Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is slashing that amount of education money going to schools to the point that the children of Wisconsin are going to be going to school in one room schools, working on computers with 5 inch floppy disks, use fires to warm the school houses and Laura Ingles is going to be teaching the students of Wisconsin in one room school houses, if you listen to the teacher unions, radical teachers and Democrats.
Well, Nevada and the Clark County School District has gone through the same thing and you know what, we have survived. We have had cut hundreds of millions of dollars from our budgets over the past few years There have been very few layoffs, teachers have somewhat larger classes that by the end of the first semester, even out and no one has died or have been denied an education.
Now, critics(mostly liberal) have said that Nevada education sucks. Well, if you don't go to school or cause trouble, don't speak English, move frequently or have parents who don't care about education, then yes, you will not get a good education. But if you are a student who goes to school every day, stay out of trouble, do your homework and speak fair to good English, you will succeed as a student and you will get a good education in Nevada schools.
further, in Wisconsin, the $300 million will be split up among hundreds of school districts. In Nevada, we have had hundreds of millions of dollars cut from out budgets, real cuts, not budget gimmickry and it is divided up between 17 school districts. That's right, we only have 17 school districts in the entire state of Nevada and the budget cuts deeply affected all of the districts.
But while the districts complained somewhat, and some teachers made fool of themselves, the districts sucked it up and made the cuts. It wasn't pretty but it was done.
So, to the Wisconsin school districts, teachers, employees and taxpayers, the cuts will not harm education unless you have the mind set that you are a failure and if that is the case, you will fail because you are, yourswelf are a failure.
