More Pahrump Nonsense

Today on Channel 13 news, the Sheriff of Nye County was on the news trying to justify the arrest of the mother of the 3 children that died in a fire on Friday.
The sheriff said that there had been two previous fires at the house. One was a pillow and the other fire happened when the children banged some holes in a wall and put paper or something like that and started a fire that damaged the room.

From the Pahrump Valley Times: Sheriff Tony DeMeo said that under questioning Broadhead admitted to a disturbing pattern of covering up potentially dangerous incidents involving the children.
“We were able to identify that there was child neglect and abuse. And because of that, four people lost their lives,” DeMeo said.
Later the sheriff reiterated that “they had severe fires there (at the home) that they never reported to proper authorities.”

What was troubling to investigators was that one room was already burned out,” DeMeo said. “We were never called to the residence for previous fires, even as severe as that one was.

The father has this to say (from the same article):Through a family friend, Pahrump attorney Timothy B. Sutton, Anthony Broadhead issued a statement suggesting that he didn’t agree with the criminal charges against his wife.
“Anthony disputes the charges against his wife. He doesn’t know the details, so it’s a difficult situation all around,” Sutton said. “He questions the charges, but at the same time, he wasn’t there, so he doesn’t know what happened either.”

The sheriff was upset, that even though the parents put out the fire, and dealt with the kids, the sheriff said the parents had an obligation to call the fire department and the police department. WTF!!!
I'm sorry, but most people would not call the fire department or the police if a child a child gets into trouble. They don't need or want the fire or police involved in raising their kids or dealing with their kids when they handle the situation themselves.
I know I would never had called the police or fire department if I didn't need to.
Further, there is still no official cause of the fire.
This case is very weak, at best, unless the Nye County Sheriff is not saying everything they know.
And meanwhile, a mother is sitting in jail unable to say good bye to her babies or go to their funerals. Shameful on the Nye County Sheriff's department and the District Attorney
