I think Gov. Sandoval has been doing a pretty good job as governor of Nevada so far. He has kept the GOP senators and assembly members in line with his no new tax pledge and it helps that he doesn't have a bunch of old RINO's in the legislature still.
However, Sandoval is cracking under the pressure of the teacher unions and the higher education crazies in Nevada.
Nevada was given about $200 million more for it's budget and Sandoval has decided that it all should go to education. And any extra money the State receives, education should get it.
Why? Why should education get all the extra money?
Kids with autism- no extra money.
Nursing home patients- no extra money to replace the cuts that are going to take place.
No extra money for infrastructure.
No extra money to the DMV which is short staffed.
No extra money to keep museums and libraries open.
No extra money to fund first responders such as the State Patrol.
No extra money for the prisons to keep the bad boys and girls in jail. This includes juveniles in custody.
No extra money for the homeless and those with mental health issues.
Just education. Even though there is plenty of fat in both local K-12 and higher education budgets
Please Gov. Sandoval, there are a lot of good people who need some extra state money. I'm glad you are keeping your no new tax pledge and you are doing a pretty good job. While education can use some extra money but so do other agencies. You need to spread the wealth around.
