Under the heading of unfrickinbelievable, the Clark County Teacher Association (CCEA) is mandating that every teacher in the Clark County School District meet with representatives of the union and another company to: (From a letter from the CCEA)
Benefits of CCEA membership
Section 125 Premium Only Plan
Flexible Spending Accounts
Review of Medical, Dental and Vision insurance
Dependent Eligibility (the teacher will be forced to bring in tax documents and/or birth certificates to prove eligibility for the insurance- failure to provide this information will result in suspension of insurance. It should also be noted that Teacher's Trust, the health insurance company already has these documents because they were needed to sign up for the insurance)
PERS (pension)Retirement Contribution
Group Life Insurance
Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Programs
And when and where are these mandatory meetings going to take place? During school hours, of course. And since every teacher is mandated to participate in this interrogation by the union, this means that teachers will be taken out of the classroom, either during a class or during a teacher's prep period (which is the school district- not personal time) and maybe at lunch.
This means the Clark County School District is allowing and endorsing these interrogations of the teachers.
Why? And why is the school district allowing teachers to be pulled out of the classrooms for this?
This is disgraceful behavior by both the union and the school district.
